Qihe double-backed crucian carp is named after it is produced in Qihe River, an east-west mountain stream in Qixian County, Hebi City, Henan Province. Qihe River is not frozen all year round. In June and February, the water temperature is still above 10℃, and the riverbed of Qihe River is overgrown with weeds. The excellent ecological environment has created favorable conditions for the growth and reproduction of crucian carp in Qihe River. Qihe crucian carp is tender and delicious. According to ancient records, Qihe crucian carp, together with seedless dates and shredded duck eggs, are the three major local tributes.
