Four common misunderstandings in reading

I once had these four misunderstandings and shared them with my mother's partners in the growth camp. They all said that they were all recruited.

1. Be sure to read the whole book.

Many people think that reading will be finished soon, and they can't be anticlimactic. Many times, they can't read any more, but they feel that they can't finish reading, so they just stop reading. There are many books that you can't understand, which are related to your cognition, your reading ability and your interest. If you can't read a difficult book, you might as well put it aside and continue reading the next one. In reading, it is very important to choose the right books. In the early stage of cultivating reading habits, you must choose some humorous and easy-to-understand books that you are most concerned about and need, and start reading first to make yourself interested in reading. If you choose the wrong book, you will feel frustrated and feel that you are not a person who loves reading. No matter adults or children, everyone can love reading. The key is to choose the right book in the right way.

Remember when you read, or you will read in vain.

This is an idea that most people have, and I always feel forgotten after reading it. Isn't this a waste of reading? Actually, it's not. You forget it after reading it. On the one hand, you haven't read enough. On the other hand, what you read has nothing to do with yourself, and the number of repetitions is small, and the content has little to do with yourself. Isn't it easy to forget If you choose a problem that you want to solve most at present, such as financial freedom, husband-wife relationship, parent-child relationship, English enlightenment ... choose a problem that you want to solve most at present, and then find a series of books. For example, I am very confused about English enlightenment now, so I found more than a dozen related books and scanned them quickly first. You will find that these books are of a * * * nature, or have some * * same views.

In addition, if you can't find the book you want to read most at present, you won't choose it. Read it anyway. Even if you can't remember, there will always be some impressions in your mind. There will always be one or two things that touch your heart or refresh your cognition, so the books you have read will always be useful. Just like a sentence, every step in the world is very important.

3. Fast reading is like a flower skimming, and intensive reading can help you learn knowledge.

Reading can be roughly divided into three types: one is to enjoy the fun, the other is to gain new knowledge, and the third is to gain change (change yourself and change your destiny). What you want from books is different, and so is your reading method. Read extensively first, then intensively, find the books that you need most and are most suitable for reading from a large number of books, then intensively read and practice repeatedly. This is the most suitable for me, and I want to change my way by reading.

The advantage of fast reading is to know the outline of the whole book first, and then know which parts of the book can be skimmed, which parts can be read intensively, and which parts should be practiced repeatedly by yourself. For some books that feel good and want to read again and again, read them once, and then you will know how to read the book the second time. Choose which part to practice and which part to open your own cognition, and you can strengthen it the second time. Extensive reading plus intensive reading, combination of speed and speed and moderate relaxation are better reading methods.

I doze off as soon as I read a book, which seems unsuitable for reading.

There are probably several situations when you doze off as soon as you read a book: reading at the wrong time, such as being tired or sleepy; If you choose the wrong book and take a book that you are not interested in and can't read, it's strange not to be sleepy; Reading is just for reading, there is no purpose and goal, of course, I will not study and analyze the reading methods that suit me.

Combine the above three points, find your own motivation to learn, know why you study, what books you should read first and what methods you should use. When you put all this into practice, reading will naturally be less sleepy. Reading in quiet time, that is, when the brain is most active, that is, when the brain is awake, is often the most efficient.

Having said that, I just want to tell you that you should not only study, but also think again and again. When you read and think, you will find a reading method that suits you. Keep reading, and you will eventually get unexpected gains.
