Guangxu was the first 1 1 emperor of the Qing dynasty and the ninth emperor after the Qing army entered the customs. It started from the first year of Guangxu (1875) to the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu (1908), during which major events occurred, including the Sino-Japanese War, the Reform Movement of 1898, the coup of 1898, and the Boxer Movement.
Emperor Guangxu was held hostage by Empress Dowager Cixi all his life and never held real power. 1898, Emperor Guangxu carried out the Reform Movement of 1898, but it was resisted by conservatives headed by Empress Dowager Cixi. Emperor Guangxu was imprisoned by Empress Dowager Cixi in Yingtai, Zhongnanhai. The whole reform only lasted 103 days, so it was called "hundred-day reform". 1908, Emperor Guangxu died the day before Empress Dowager Cixi's death, at the age of 38, and was buried in Qing chongling, Qing Xiling.

The origin of year number
The year number is a name used by feudal dynasties in China and contemporary Japanese to record the year (it can also be used as a year). Generally initiated by the monarch. There was no title from the pre-Qin Dynasty to the early Han Dynasty, which was first created by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty after he ascended the throne. The founding year is Jianyuan. Since then, a system has been formed.
The title originated when the new monarch of ancient China ascended the throne. In order to distinguish the former monarch, the new monarch recalculated the system of reigning years. Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty ascended the throne and added a commemorative name before the year number, which was the beginning of China's ancient appellation. According to the textual research of Zhao Yi's Notes on Twenty-two Histories in Qing Dynasty, the year number was first created in the 19th year of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, and the year number was "Jianyuan" (140- 135).
It is recorded in Hanshu that in October of that year, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty went out hunting and caught a unicorn-Bai Lin. His ministers thought it was auspicious and memorable, and suggested using it to record the year, so he named this year "Yuanshou" and called this year (BC 122) the first year of Yuanshou. However, six years later, he got a tripod in Fenyang, Shanxi. Ministers thought it was an auspicious god and suggested that it be used for dating, so he changed the year number to "Ding Yuan" and called it the first year of Ding Yuan.
The year number system originated in China. Later Silla, Korea, Japan in the late 7th century, and Vietnam in the10th century all began to use year numbers because of the influence of China. Ancient Vietnam, Korea during the Korean Empire, Korea in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the ancient Mongolian capital were influenced by China.
