When were the types of books distinguished?

Since the Southern Song Dynasty, with the continuous emergence of books and classics, the types of books and periodicals have gradually increased, which puts forward the problem of reasonable classification of books and periodicals. The classification of series in the traditional catalogue and the distinction of its own categories began with Lianshengtang Bibliography, which was inherited in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty. In this book, Qi is an independent series category, and the series is divided into six categories: national history, miscellaneous history, diversity, talk collection, miscellaneous collection and collection. Since then, scholars have put forward opinions and schemes on the classification of series. Since 1950s, the systematic and scientific classification of this series should belong to the Comprehensive Records of China Series compiled by Shanghai Library and the General Catalogue of Rare Ancient Books in China edited by Gu.
