Bu Ju Qu Yuan
Although "Bu Ju" comes from "The Songs of Chu", it is not Qu Yuan's work as people imagined. Instead, after Qu Yuan's death, people in the Chu State were very I miss him, and I wrote it in memory of him.
Qu Yuan’s Divination
“Divination” compiles a story about Qu Yuan’s inquiry into hexagrams. After Qu Yuan was exiled for a long time, one day he finally went to have his fortune told. He asked the fortune teller whether it was a good thing to do so if he said that he would not join in the evil deeds of the world. He asked eight questions in a row. Qu Yuan just asked, and also gave some examples of good things and bad things, and finally succeeded in convincing the fortune teller. The fortune teller sided with Qu Yuan and said that it is best to obey one's heart.
There is no doubt that Qu Yuan was loyal to the king and loved his country. Sima Qian wrote history, especially for Qu Yuan. Therefore, Sima Qian spared no effort in describing Qu Yuan's story. Coupled with the true or false additional narrations by later generations, we can see a complete Qu Yuan.
"Bu Ju" by Qu Yuan, although it is not a work written by Qu Yuan, describes Qu Yuan's political ideals accurately, and the words are also very beautiful. It is the rhetoric of Chu Ci, and the central idea is also thought-provoking. A great article to read. In particular, it introduces Qu Yuan to us. Between the lines of its words, Qu Yuan becomes alive and has flesh and blood. He can also complain and be aloof and proud. He is no longer as lonely and self-admiring as we have learned. Qu Yuan is too cute, and his ideas are too idealistic. Failure is inevitable. What we need to learn is to pay tribute to Qu Yuan as a loser.
Qu Yuan in "Bu Ju" is a completely different Qu Yuan. Why commemorate Qu Yuan
Qu Yuan bouldered and committed suicide in the Miluo River in 278 BC. He was a famous writer and politician in the Chu State during the Warring States Period. China has a long history of five thousand years and has many celebrities. Why should we commemorate Qu Yuan?
Portrait of Qu Yuan
One is to commemorate his outstanding literary achievements, and the other is to commemorate his noble character. Qu Yuan's painstakingly composed poems ushered in the genre of Chu Ci, which cleverly integrated fu, comparison, and xing, and brought it to the extreme in borrowing objects to understand one's mind and express one's thoughts and feelings. Qu Yuan held a high official position during the era of King Huai of Chu, and he also shined in the court. Patriotic blood flows in his bones, and his personal future is closely linked to the fate of the country. He does not resent himself for being deposed, nor resents his personal plight. He only thinks that he can contribute to the strength of Chu State.
Qu Yuan went through three dynasties in his life, and was reused by the second monarch, King Huai of Chu. He was able to predict the future political trend at the height of historical development, and advocated making the country rich and powerful to resist Qin. Unfortunately, Qu Yuan could not see the present clearly despite his calculations about the future. He was squeezed out by other forces and eventually had a rift with King Huai of Chu. Even so, after the death of King Chu Huai, he still had expectations for the Chu royal family and did not want all his talents to be wasted. His political life came to an end as he was once again exiled.
Regardless of Qu Yuan's ending, he was the embodiment of justice and loyalty in his pursuit of ideals. His patriotism and national sentiments are worthy of everyone's respect. Especially today with diversified value orientations, his precious character is particularly important. Qu Yuan was exiled
Qu Yuan had extraordinary literary talents throughout his life and had few rivals in the world. He was eclectic and created many poetry schools. He can be called the originator of romantic poetry. Why did such a talented person finally choose to commit suicide by throwing himself into the river? In fact, this is related to his being sent into exile.

During the Spring and Autumn Period, various countries were constantly fighting and fighting. Not only are there open wars and fights to the death, but there are also secret intrigues and sowing dissension. Although the Chu State has developed into a strong army after a long period of development, there are still many factions in the temples, and there are quite a lot of fights between the various factions.
This also gave Zhang Yi, a well-known strategist in later generations, an opportunity. Zhang Yi knew very well that Qu Yuan must be eliminated in order to reduce the decline of the Chu State. However, Qu Yuan was indifferent to fame and fortune, was not a womanizer, and was loyal to the emperor and patriotic. There were no flaws at all, and it was impossible to corrupt him. So Zhang Yi focused on the Shangguan official of Chu State. This Jin Shang loved wine, sex, and was greedy for fame and fortune. He was the perfect candidate to win over. So Zhang Yi presented him with a hundred taels of gold and dozens of beauties.
Jin Shang began to speak ill of Qu Yuan in front of the King of Chu. Literati have been proud since ancient times, but Qu Yuan was always straightforward and did not like flattery, so he occasionally contradicted the King of Chu. Jin Shang's treacherous words continued for a long time, and the King of Chu gradually became disgusted with Qu Yuan. Finally, after another frank remonstrance, the King of Chu became furious and pointed at Qu Yuan fiercely: I, the land of Chu, can no longer tolerate a mean person like you. From now on, you should not appear in the court.
This scene came so suddenly that Qu Yuan could not accept it. How could he know that countless people had said bad things about him in front of the King of Chu? Zhang Yi was so scheming, how could it be that it was only the doctor who was bribed?
Depressed and frustrated, Qu Yuan had to pack his luggage and go to Jiangnan. This moment is undoubtedly an important foreshadowing of his tragic life.
Qu Yuan and Sima Qian
Qu Yuan’s poems and poems are the most arrogant in the world. He served the country and the people all his life, never having second thoughts. However, he was ostracized by the sycophants and was exiled to a remote place. He was filled with depression and anger and wrote "Li Sao". As soon as the poem came out, all China was shocked. Later, the enemy troops pressed on the territory, the mountains and rivers were shattered, and the country was no longer there, so how could the people survive? Qu Yuan jumped and sank into the roaring river.

Sima Qian, whose writing style is unparalleled in the world, worked extremely hard since childhood and read countless books when he was more than ten years old. However, he stood up for his enemies and spoke up for his enemies, which resulted in his being brutally castrated. He lost all his dignity and wrote "Historical Records" after falling seriously ill. It is eloquent and has tens of thousands of words, making it one of the best Chinese history books.
One is a pioneering figure in the poetry world. When he is slandered, he does not grovel or beg for mercy. When faced with adversity, turn sorrow into strength. When the country is destroyed and the family is destroyed, he does not care about the world and shows his ambition by going to death resolutely. Later generations, Qian Qianyi, said when the country was perishing that the water was too cold and it was not suitable to die for the country. In comparison, Mr. Qu Yuan is so flawless and a scholar of integrity.
One is a master in the field of history books. He is upright and generous, and does not hesitate to offend the king for the sake of justice. The death sentence is imminent, the ambition is not completed, and a hasty death will be as light as a feather. So he gave up his dignity, lost face, and endured the humiliation and burden, just to fulfill his father's legacy. This dignified man of seven feet endured castration before he could realize his ideals. This is such a decisive determination and such a generous ambition.
Qu Yuan and Sima Qian, two completely different realms of life. They have two opposite ways of coping with death. One lives and the other dies, but they are equally immortal. These are two great men who deserve to be remembered from generation to generation. Their great spirits and their great choices deserve our admiration for all eternity. Qu Yuan studied hard in the cave
Qu Yuan was born in a declining aristocratic family of the Chu Kingdom. Although his family's financial situation was not as good as it was in its heyday, he still lived a comfortable life with no worries about food and clothing. The elders in the family are full of knowledge and attach great importance to Qu Yuan's family education. Qu Yuan knew very well that he had the royal blood of the Chu Kingdom in his body, and he had been very strict with himself since he was a child.
Pictures of Qu Yuan’s hometown
There is a mountain not far from their home. The environment in the mountain is quiet and quiet. Except for hunters who come here to hunt, there are few people there. Qu Yuan was studying at home. In winter, the brazier was burning very brightly and the room was very warm. After a while, Qu Yuan felt drowsy. He thought of stories recorded in ancient books about scholars studying hard, and thought of going to the cave behind his house to study, so that he could exercise his mind and read without dozing off.
After he told his family about his idea, they met with unanimous opposition. However, Qu Yuan ignored his family's obstruction and came to the mountains alone with his books. He found a cave with leeward wind and started reading. The temperature in the mountains was already low, and it was even colder and damper in the cave. It didn't take long for Qu Yuan's hands and feet to become swollen from the cold. He stood up, stamped his feet and rubbed his hands. When his body warmed up, he sat on the ground and read again. When the family saw that Qu Yuan could endure hardship at such a young age, they no longer stopped him. Qu Yuan persisted in the cave for three years and finally understood the "Book of Songs" thoroughly. This also laid a solid literary foundation for his later creation of Chu Ci.
In fact, one thing is the same in the experiences of successful people at home and abroad in ancient and modern times, that is, they are willing to endure hardships and work hard, and they put in far more effort and sweat to do something than others. Qu Yuan's great achievements in politics and literature are closely related to his hard-working spirit, which is very worthy of our modern people's learning. Qu Yuan's contribution
Qu Yuan was full of talents and ambitions, but in the end he did not end well. For a long time, when people think of Qu Yuan, they first think that he is a historical tragic figure, while ignoring his political actions and literary achievements.

Qu Yuan was caught up in the historical trend of China's unification at the wrong time. He was an aristocrat of the declining Chu State and was absolutely a "die-hard fan" of the Chu royal family. He proposed internal reforms to strengthen the country and unite with the outside world to fight against the Qin Dynasty. When King Huai of Chu just took over the Kingdom of Chu from King Wei of Chu, the political situation was in disarray, the troops were weak and the horses were weak, aristocratic forces were rampant within the court, and the border was harassed by other countries from time to time. King Huai of Chu re-employed Qu Yuan and adopted a series of his political, economic and cultural ideas, which suddenly reversed Chu's difficult situation at home and abroad. Shooting the first bird, in this way, the marginalized and suppressed feudal power groups and reactionary forces unanimously targeted Qu Yuan. In addition, Qu Yuan spoke upright and failed to take care of King Chu Huai's face on many occasions. Over time, King Chu Huai gradually abandoned Qu Yuan.
Qu Yuan felt depressed during his political career and expressed all his grievances in literary creation. He asked questions in the tone of ghosts and gods to see if there are still fair people in this world. In particular, he boldly innovated on the basis of the Book of Songs and created the eclectic style of Chu Ci. "Li Sao" pioneered the creation of romantic poetry in the history of Chinese literature. No other work in later generations can surpass the literary status of this poem.
It's just that Qu Yuan's habits as a literary man were somewhat inappropriate when applied to politics, and it was not easy to change his dual identities of writer and politician. Even so, Qu Yuan's political and literary contributions are very huge and should not be underestimated.
