1 "History of Chinese Architecture" Baihua Literature and Art Publishing House, 1998 edition.
Completed in 1944, this book is the first relatively complete and systematic history of Chinese architecture written by the Chinese themselves. Liang Sicheng is "the first scholar to use modern scientific methods to study ancient Chinese architecture." He has very unique insights into Chinese architecture. This book reflects Mr. Liang's research method of integrating Eastern and Western cultures. For each specific historical period, the author first describes the architectural activities of that stage in the literature, and briefly intersperses the relevant political, economic, and cultural backgrounds. This is not only conducive to readers' overall understanding, but also provides a basic framework for subsequent scholars' research. This book has vivid descriptions and concise writing.
