What is the significance of middle school students reciting Historical Records?

To tell the truth, I don't think historical records have any influence on modern students at all. If someone asks what historical records are, there may be many students who don't even know who wrote them. I have read historical records. Classical Chinese is a difficult problem for modern students, especially for primary and junior high school students. I didn't even learn classical Chinese well. How do you read Historical Records? Secondly, Historical Records is a classic work, but its records are not comprehensive, and it has not passed on all the 5,000-year culture of China. Even if some students like history, they would rather watch lectures or unofficial history than historical records. On the other hand, if Historical Records really influenced modern students, you wouldn't ask this question, would you? It is because I can't see the influence of historical records on students that I come to ask questions, but it turns out that historical records really don't have much influence. I am a junior two student. I understand that some students can remember some history by listening to fairy tales or watching TV dramas of that era, but if they simply read this book, it can only be ineffective. Of course not all, but there are still a few influential people, don't you think?
