From your self-report, you don't know much about actual archaeology. Maybe you should read some books on archaeology and learn about archaeology first. The general impression of archaeology in today's society is far from archaeology itself. Archaeology in your imagination may be very different from reality.
If you are interested, you can first look at Chen Chun's Introduction to Archaeological Research, as well as Archaeology: Theory, Method and Practice and Archaeology: Discovering Our Past.
For specific knowledge, you can find some books on the introduction and general theory of archaeology, such as Zhang Zhiheng's General Theory of Archaeology in China and Liu Qingzhu's Archaeological Discovery and Research in China (1949-2009).
If you want to know how to do it in the wild, you can read Field Archaeology edited by Feng Enxue.
If you have perseverance, you might as well practice archaeological mapping first. As far as I know, professional draftsmen are still in short supply. You can refer to the Field Archaeological Map and Archaeological Physical Map edited by Ma Hongzao.
