What is the difference between medical sulfur and industrial sulfur, and how to distinguish it?

It's different. Crude sulfur is used in industry and sublimated sulfur is used in medicine.

Bulk sulfur is light yellow block crystal, and powder is light yellow powder with special smell, which is soluble in carbon disulfide and insoluble in water. Different crystals have different specific gravity, melting point and solubility in carbon disulfide. The boiling point is about 445℃. When sulfur burns in the air, it will produce a blue flame and produce sulfur dioxide. When the powder is mixed with air or oxidant, it is easy to burn or even explode.

There are three crystal forms of sulfur block, namely rhombohedral sulfur, mono-italic sulfur and amorphous sulfur, among which rhombohedral sulfur is the most stable, and general commodities are two crystal forms.

The appearance of industrial sulfur is yellow or light yellow, and there are blocks, powders, granules or flakes.
