Ancient records:
There is an anecdote in Qing Louis: when the Jin emperor pursued the enemy, the supply of rations was not enough, and the soldiers did not advance for three days, and their morale was greatly reduced. To the east of the Luanshui River in Yanshan Mountain, I saw chestnuts all over the mountain, so I ordered the sergeant to steam chestnuts for cooked food to satisfy my hunger. So morale was greatly boosted and the enemy soldiers were defeated. Therefore, the soldiers called chestnuts "Hedong rice".
The record of chestnut in Gan 'an County Records of the Republic of China is as follows: "The local production is the richest, the transportation and marketing are the farthest, and it is a large number of local production". The "local" here mainly refers to the areas that moved westward today.
