1 First of all, wool paper and rice paper have different origins:
Xuan paper is produced in Dingjiaqiao, Jingxian County, Anhui Province. It is mainly made of sandalwood bark. Paper without sandalwood skin cannot be called rice paper. The origin of edge paper is Jiajiang, Sichuan. Edge paper is mainly made of tender bamboo, and its price is relatively low.
2. Secondly, tassel paper and rice paper are used differently:
Xuan paper has a strong expressive force and can be used to write big characters, seal script cursive script, official script, big character lines and so on. It is something that many calligraphers like, and of course it is more expensive; Wool edge paper actually appears as printing paper with low price, which is suitable not only for writing, but also for printing ancient books.
3. Finally, wool paper and rice paper have different characteristics:
Xuan paper is thin, and it is not easy to show wet ink. Thick clean skin and extra clean paper can well reflect the change of ink color, and the dry and wet shades can be vividly displayed, full of ink color. Fringed edge paper is characterized by fine, thin and soft paper, light yellow, water resistance, good ink holding and water absorption, and low price.
There are two kinds of calligraphy edge paper:
1. Machine-made paper: one side is rough and the other side is smooth. This paper is suitable for beginners.
2. Handmade paper: Handmade paper is rough on both sides, so this paper is suitable for entering the stage of bookshelf structure practice and proficiency, so the paper has certain convergence, which can lay the foundation for using ink, wiping pens and rice paper in the future.
