Su Shi's anecdote about Pengcheng

Since then, "back meat" has spread all over Xuzhou and become a traditional dish in Xuzhou. He once said in the poem "Lingbi Zhangyuanting": "I will stay in Pengcheng for two years, enjoy its local conditions and customs, and I can't bear it. The father of Pengcheng is also tired of it, and will buy land in Surabaya and grow old." It is conceivable that if it were not for the king's orders, Su Shi would probably plant trees and pine trees and die in Xuzhou.

When Su Shi left for Huzhou, the elders of Pengcheng gathered from all directions to help Su Shi get on the horse. They held blue flowers, washed lamps and offered wine to bless the messengers. Su Shi was very excited and wrote Jiang Chengzi. "Farewell to Xuzhou" contains tears:
