Generally speaking, however, Sinology refers to China's traditional culture and scholarship with Confucianism as the main body. Including medicine, drama, calligraphy and painting, mathematics and so on.
Classification of China Studies
Chinese studies can be divided into philosophy, history, religion, literature, customs, ethics and so on. The history of China tells us that Confucian philosophy is the mainstay of Chinese studies.
According to ideology, Chinese studies can be divided into pre-Qin philosophers, Confucianism, Taoism and Legalism. Thousands of years' history in China tells us that Confucianism is the dominant thought of Chinese studies, and other thoughts are subordinate.
According to the four parts, Chinese studies should be divided into four parts: Confucian classics, history, Confucianism and anthology. Among them, meridians and subdivisions are the main ones, especially meridians. Bian Xiao explained here that classics refer to classics, mainly Confucian classics. History refers to the official history. Zi refers to hundreds of works and religions in the pre-Qin period. Collection refers to the collection of poems.
