From 198 1 to 1987, Mr. Dong successively served as the deputy director and director of the Chinese Department of Shandong University, making due contributions to the construction and development of Chinese subject in Shandong University. From 1983 to 10, Mr. Dong served as a member of the National Research Committee for the Arrangement of Ancient Books in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education. 1since may 1992, he has served as a member of the national leading group for the planning and publication of ancient books. 1Since August, 1993, he has served as the vice president of China Book of Songs Society. 1994 was hired as a member of the editorial board of the Grand Ceremony of China, deputy editor-in-chief of Literary Classics, and editor-in-chief of the Literary Dictionary of the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties. 1997 was hired as a visiting professor by Keio University (Literature Department) in Japan. In 2004, he was appointed as the "Outstanding Visiting Scholar of 2003-2004" of the United College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2006, he was hired as a member of the editorial board of "The Essence of Confucianism and Tibetan" and editor-in-chief of "The Book of Songs".
Mr. Dong is a well-known expert in China classical literature research and China classical philology research at home and abroad. He is one of the organizers of classical academic research in Shandong University in recent thirty years. He was diligent in his studies all his life, cautious and rigorous, and made outstanding achievements in Confucian classics, Confucianism, literature and literature in the pre-Qin and Han dynasties, and ideological and cultural research. He published academic monographs such as Literature and Literature in the Pre-Qin Dynasty and Literature and Literature in the Han Dynasty, and edited the Grand Ceremony of China.
The China Grand Prix Literature Sub-division of the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties is one of the six sub-divisions of the China Grand Prix. It is a classified compilation of research documents about the works of writers of the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties, with 8 million words and extensive materials, covering more than 2,000 years of literature research materials from the pre-Qin to the late Qing Dynasty, which provides great convenience for researchers.
The Complete Works of Hanshu (1996) was established as a major ancient books collation project by the National University Ancient Books Collation Research Committee (Ministry of Education), and received key support and direct funding from the Ancient Books Committee. It has been listed in the Ninth Five-Year Plan, the Tenth Five-Year Plan and the Eleventh Five-Year Plan of the humanities and social sciences research of the Ministry of Education, and the national key book publishing planning projects in the Ninth Five-Year Plan, the Tenth Five-Year Plan and the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. In 2003, it was listed as a "major project of ancient book arrangement and publication" by the national leading group for ancient book arrangement and publication planning. The sorting work lasted from 1996 to 2009, lasting 13 years. This is the most painstaking research topic of Mr. Dong in his later years. With its large scale, complete materials, fine style and fine proofreading, it has won wide acclaim in academic circles. The publication of this book not only strongly promoted the study of the dynastic history of the Han Dynasty, but also helped to comprehensively summarize the characteristics of China traditional culture. In 2009, it was rated as the top ten news of Shandong University; 20 10 won the nomination of the second China government publication award; 20 1 10 won the first Shandong Press and Publication Award and the Shandong Social Science Research Major Scientific Research Award.
Mr. Dong has always attached great importance to personnel training, set an example, followed good advice, worked hard, carefully guided the trained master students and doctoral students, strictly controlled the students' dissertations, and often wrote and revised them in person. Many students are not only familiar with the way of learning, but also master the good methods of cultivating students. Now, many students' disciples have become the pillars of many academic fields, among which there are many excellent graduate tutors. Mr. Dong's concern for the younger generation of students applies not only to his disciples, but also to young scholars other than his disciples. Not only in academic support, but also in life care. In recognition of Mr. Dong's outstanding contribution in teaching and educating people, Shandong University awarded him the honorary title of "Meritorious Talents Training" for 20 1 1 year.
As Mr. Wang's academic successor, Mr. Dong devoted his life to the friendship between teachers and students. In all aspects of academic research and life, he and Mr. Gao Feng are as close as father and son, and have jointly published many works. What is particularly commendable is that from 1986 to 1996, Mr. Dong spent ten years sorting out and publishing Mr. Wang's "Ancient Words and Holidays" and became an authoritative work in the fields of philology and phonology. From 2002 to 2003, he personally led his disciples to compile the Complete Works of Mr. Gao Feng's Life, which was collected as the Collection of Gao Feng's Works, with ten volumes of more than 3 million words, and was published by Tsinghua University Publishing House in 2004. Mr. Dong's efforts have played an important role in inheriting and carrying forward his academic spirit, and contributed to the continuation and development of Shandong University's academic tradition of literature and history.
Mr. Dong is indifferent to fame and fortune, modest and prudent. He devoted his life to education and academic research, and his noble character was admired by later scholars. Mr. Dong's articles and knowledge will be circulated for a long time, and his dedication and personality charm will last forever.
