He has worked in Qinghai Normal University for a long time, and has served as director of the research office of ancient books collation, deputy director of the Chinese Department, director of the academic affairs office, director of the Chinese Department, and dean and vice president of the School of Humanities. Since 1993, he has enjoyed the special allowance of the State Council and successively won the honorary titles of "Model Worker in Qinghai Province", "National Advanced Worker", "Member of the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles", "Excellent Teacher in Qinghai Province" and "National Advanced Individual in Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection". He was awarded the first "Zhong Jingwen Folklore Award" and the honor of "Excellent Doctoral Student" of Beijing Normal University.
He is also the vice president of China Folklore Society, the vice president of China Minority Literature, the president of Qinghai Folklore Society, the president of Qinghai Folk Writers Association and the president of Qinghai Kunlun Culture Research Association. At the same time, he is also a visiting professor at many universities at home and abroad or distinguished professor.
