Who discovered salt?

In the history of China, the earliest famous discovery of salt is the legend that Su Sha boiled the sea to get salt.

According to legend, in ancient times, there lived a primitive tribe in Jiaozhou Bay on the south bank of Shandong Peninsula. There is a man named Su Sha in the tribe. He is clever and capable, and is good at weaving nets with ropes. Every time he goes hunting, he catches many animals, fish and turtles. One day, ShaSuSu was cooking fish by the sea. As usual, he came back from the sea with a clay pot and half a pot of water. He had just put it on the fire when suddenly a wild boar flew by. Sha rewelding saw that he couldn't let go, and started to chase. When he came back with a dead pig, the water in the pot had been boiled dry, leaving a layer of white powder at the bottom. He put his finger into his mouth and tasted it. It is salty and fresh. It's delicious to eat with roast wild boar. White fine powder is salt boiled in seawater.

From the Warring States, the Han Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty to the Song Dynasty, the legends of the Su Sha family are common. The first secretary of the ancient stone book has the saying that "Su Shashi boiled the sea for salt" and "Su Shashi began to cook the sea for salt". Who is Su Sha (Su Sha)? One view is "the minister of the Yellow Emperor", another view is the vassal of Emperor Yan, and the other view is "the son of sand going to the Soviet Union". "Lu's Spring and Autumn Period for the People" contains: "The family attacked the monarch and returned to Shennong", and Shennong was Emperor Yan.

According to textual research, Su Sha clan is an ancient tribe living in Shandong Peninsula for a long time, which is closely related to the legendary Yan Di tribe in the flood season. It can be inferred that the Su Sha tribes have been near the sea for a long time, which not only created the cooking with sea as salt, but also popularized and popularized the cooking with sea as salt in the local area around the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. "History of Salt Administration in China" records: "The world salt industry is not ahead of China. The salt industry in China originated in the early Shennong era, and it was called' Salt Sect' at that time." Among the cultural relics unearthed in Fujian in 1950s, there were cookers, which proved that local people had learned to cook sea salt in Yangshao period (5000-3000 BC). This discovery has been confirmed by historical data. It is certain that the coastal areas from Shandong to Fujian in China have learned to cook sea salt at least 4700 years ago.

According to the above information, in China, the origin of salt appeared as far back as 5,000 years ago in the Yanhuang period. The inventor Su Sha was the originator of making salt from seawater and boiling it with fire, and later generations respectfully called him "Salt Sect". Before the Song Dynasty, a temple dedicated to Yanzong was built ten miles southeast of Anyi County, Xiezhou, Hedong. During the Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty, Qiao Songnian, a salt messenger, built a "salt temple" in Taizhou. Su Sha, who cooked the sea to get salt, Guan Zhong, who transported brine in Shang and Zhou Dynasties, and Guan Zhong, who practiced "salt administration official camp" in Qi State in the Spring and Autumn Period, were placed in the position of accompanying sacrifices.
