Zhejiang University Press, founded in May 1984, is a national first-class publishing house headed by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Zhejiang University. Following the realistic and innovative spirit of several generations of Zhejiang University scholars, Zhejiang University Press has grown into a comprehensive university press with various publishing qualifications such as books, periodicals, electronics, audio-visual and digital, covering science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, humanities and social sciences.

The history of Zhejiang University Press;
National key cultural export enterprises and national digital transformation demonstration units won the China Publishing Government Award for advanced publishing units for two consecutive sessions (the fourth and fifth sessions). Zhejiang University Press was established in May, 1984, sponsored by Zhejiang University and headed by the Ministry of Education. 65438-0999 merged with the former Hangzhou University Press to form a new Zhejiang University Press. In February, 20001year, the General Administration of Press and Publication agreed that Zhejiang University Press would publish audio-visual products in the name of Zhejiang University Audio-visual Press.
In March, 2002, Zhejiang University Press was approved to increase the publishing business of electronic publications after being examined by the General Administration of Press and Publication. In June 2003, Zhejiang University Audio-visual Publishing House was officially renamed as Zhejiang University Electronic Audio-visual Publishing House. From June, 5438 to February, 2009, the enterprise was transformed and renamed as Zhejiang University Press Co., Ltd., referred to as Zhejiang University Press for short.
