A 400-word introduction to Jindan

"Four Hundred Words of Golden Elixir" is a text left by Master Ziyang of the Song Dynasty to Ma Chuhou after he became enlightened. The article had no name at first, but later generations named it after "The Four Hundred Characters of the Golden Pill" because of its unknown name. The words in this article are concise but not complex, and its meaning is obvious and clear, which is consistent with the "Wuzhen Pian". The "Wu Zhen Chapter" subdivides the medicine Huo Hou, and the "Four Hundred Characters" summarizes the general meaning. The two are one and two, and the two are one. However, since the Song Dynasty to the present, there have been many annotators of "Four Hundred Yus", either by fire or by transportation. Those who seek to facsimile and describe the spirit and reveal its hidden meanings will not be able to do so.
