What was Xinjiang called in ancient times?
In the 24 th year of Qing Qianlong, the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain and the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain were merged and renamed Yili. Xinjiang was founded in 1884. Its jurisdiction is equivalent to today's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Today, most of Xinjiang belongs to China from the Western Han Dynasty to the Western Jin Dynasty in China. During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, they also surrendered to the central dynasty at that time and had a good relationship. In the Tang Dynasty, Anxi and Beiting counties were established, and the western regions were still incorporated into the territory of China, and the region also expanded to the Caspian Basin. In the Yuan Dynasty, Arimali Province was established in the Ili Valley, but it was quickly incorporated into the Chagatai khanate. On the south bank of Amu Darya, a province was established. There is a province in Urumqi today, which was once occupied by the Chagatai khanate and later became the jurisdiction of the Yuan Dynasty. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was a part of Mongolian Chagatai Khanate and Wokuotai Khanate, and it was incorporated into Chinese territory again in the Ming Dynasty.
