Taiping Yulan from the Song Dynasty
An ancient Chinese book. Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty ordered Li Fang and 14 other people to edit it, which started in the second year of the Taiping Xingguo period (977) and was completed in the eighth year (983). It was originally named "Taiping General Category". Taizong read it on a daily basis and changed the name to this name. The whole book has 1000 volumes, divided into 55 parts, and each part is divided into several sub-categories, totaling 4558 categories. Known for his extensive citations. According to the "Book Compendium" at the front of the book, there are 1,690 kinds of cited books, together with miscellaneous books, poems, poems, inscriptions, proverbs, etc., and 2,579 kinds of practical cited books (according to the recent textual research by Ma Nianzu, see "Shui Jing Zhu" and other eight kinds of ancient books cited Bibliographic Collection"). Seven or eight out of ten ancient books cited have been lost, making it one of the most abundant types of preserved ancient lost books. The style of this book is to write the title of the book first for each citation, followed by the original text, arranged in chronological order. Don't add your own opinions. Most of the collected works are quotes from hundreds of classics and historians, and few novels and miscellaneous books are cited. The main text is written in large characters, and the annotations are written in two lines of small characters, attached below the sentence, making it clearer than other books. This book is the best photocopy of "Four Parts of Series Three". In 1960, Zhonghua Book Company reprinted it based on this version.
Lu Xun also used the phrase "leaving people in chaos, not as good as peace dogs" in his articles. The summary is:
But suddenly another thought came to mind, that is: it is very easy for us to become slaves. , and after changing, I still like it very much. If there is a kind of violence that "treats people as if they are not human beings", not only they are not human beings, but they are not as good as oxen and horses. When people envy oxen and horses and sigh, "They are not as good as peace dogs when they leave people randomly", then give them a brief explanation. It is equal to the price of cattle and horses, just like the law of the Yuan Dynasty, if someone kills someone else's slave and pays a cow, then people will be sincerely convinced and praise the prosperous age of peace.
Why? Because although he is not considered a human being, he is already equal to an ox and a horse
