The best time of Luohan Temple: all the year round.

Luohan Temple, located in minzu road, Yuzhong District, is one of the key Buddhist temples in the Han area of China. The Chongqing Buddhist Association is located here. Luohan Temple was founded in Zhiping period of Northern Song Dynasty (1064 1067), formerly known as Zhiping Temple. In the 11th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1885), it was rebuilt, imitating the Baoguang Temple in Xindu, clay sculpture of 500 arhats, and Luohan Temple in Fang Gaiming. The ancient Buddha rock in Luohan Temple is more than 20 meters long, and there are more than 400 statues of Buddha carved from rocks in the Song Dynasty, including sleeping Buddha, Guanyin and a patron saint, which are very similar in style to the stone carvings in Baoding Mountain in Dazu.

There are many treasures of Buddhist art in the Hall of Ursa Major, including 16 Buddha statues, that is, 16 students with the best academic record of Sakyamuni Buddha. There are bronze statues of the three saints in the west in the Ming Dynasty, and Sakyamuni in Myanmar became a jade Buddha, copying Indian murals of Sakyamuni becoming a monk. The Tripitaka, Sanskrit and Tibetan classics, as well as ancient calligraphy and painting, are mostly treasures of the Tang and Ming Dynasties. There are 524 statues in Luohantang, all of which are clay sculptures with exquisite shapes and realistic expressions.
