How to explain the formation of ancient snowflakes in China?
China has three theories about the formation of snowflakes since ancient times: gas formation theory, liquid formation theory and solid formation theory. In the inscription of the ancient book Spring and Autumn Annals, it is believed that snowflakes are formed by condensation of water vapor in the air when it meets cold. Dong Zhongshu in the Western Han Dynasty, Xu Shen He in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhu in the Song Dynasty and Wang Kui in the Ming Dynasty. It is believed that snowflakes are formed by the cold of raindrops and other liquids in the clouds. However, Yang Shen in the Ming Dynasty believed that snowflakes were made of solid substances such as graupel or rice snow. In fact, until modern times, according to scientists' theory about the formation of snowflakes, there are still three completely different views.
