Are they all a group of old men with white hair and beard, wearing white coats and doing precise work in the laboratory every day? In fact, our team is very young. Our average age and technical backbone are only about 34 years old. This is our team.
2. A small mistake led to the first large-scale retirement in the history of manned space flight.
Manned space flight is a high-risk undertaking. Ensuring the safety of space flight is our responsibility, and the quality of manned spacecraft is our lifeline. I want to tell you a story that I experienced personally. That's 200 1, ours? Shenzhou III? The spacecraft entered Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and is organizing the third flight test mission. On the third day after we entered the launch site, we found that one of the electrical connectors did not work when conducting routine tests and inspections on the conductivity and insulation of the spacecraft. This electrical connector is a connector that transmits signals from the cabin of our spacecraft to the outside, which is also commonly known as the through-wall electrical connector. It must transmit important command signals of the spacecraft, as well as energy. At this point, we should have a backup. This doesn't make sense. We can guarantee the transmission of instructions through the backup point, but a strong sense of quality requires us to find out the reason for this point. We removed this electrical connector and sent it to Beijing Original Device Failure Analysis Center for anatomical analysis. We must make clear its mechanism. Results After dissection, we were surprised to find that there were fatal design defects in the structure of the electrical connector. How many electrical connectors of the same structure are used on our spacecraft? 77. If this electrical connector is redesigned, the cycle will take three months. Shall we wait another three months, or go to heaven with such hidden dangers? Our overall planning of the project can't go to heaven with such doubts, that is to say, all our troops entering Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center should be withdrawn to their respective research units to conduct comprehensive quality rectification and review. This is the first large-scale evacuation in the history of manned spaceflight.
This retreat, like our soldiers charged at the front line, was defeated before launching the final general attack. This is a big blow to our team. After returning to Beijing, we conducted a comprehensive quality inspection. The results of the quality review once again surprised us. This happened when we were testing in Beijing factory six months ago. It was a young designer who dealt with this problem at that time. He found that there was something wrong with an electrical connector, so he took it down and locked it in the cupboard, and replaced it with a new one, thinking that the problem was solved. If we had found this problem at that time and sent it to the fault analysis center for thorough inspection and thoroughly understood the reason, we would not have brought this hidden danger to the launch site. If we don't find this problem at the launch site, it is possible to take this problem to heaven; If such a problem occurs in the sky, it may lead to shipwreck and death. This lesson was so profound that all of us were punished. I received the severest punishment. I was fined 100% subsidy, waiting for work and study, and almost got laid off. But we didn't punish the young designer. Why? Because I am his chief designer and his leader, this responsibility should be borne by me.

Some students told me that watching the launch of shenzhou spaceship and the operation of Tiangong-1, from launch, orbit, docking, separation, return, parachute opening to landing, seems to be a thrilling blockbuster. In fact, everyone doesn't know that behind this blockbuster, there are countless astronauts protecting and countless unknown astronauts contributing. Our manned space flight is a systematic project. This system engineering is like a complicated and huge machine. The people in our team may be a screw, a gear, a conveyor belt. Only when everyone's work is done well can this huge machine operate normally. The quality of our work is like a barrel. As the chief designer, one of my important responsibilities is to find out the shortcomings in our work. We should take measures to reduce the risk to an acceptable level, so that we can be sure of success. Therefore, it can be said that the quality of manned spacecraft depends on the protection of people, so we should pay more attention to those respectable and lovely unsung heroes behind the scenes.
4. Yang Liwei traveled in space for the first time, behind his calmness? Hide? What are you thinking?
Speaking of heroes, I want to talk to you about Yang Liwei, a space hero. He is a very familiar figure, and also the first person to go into space in China. 5. Treating every flight of ours is like treading on thin ice, approaching the abyss.

The third step of our development strategy is to build a space station in China. As we all know, the International Space Station excluded us from China. To put it bluntly, we are not allowed to play.
