Sukhe-Bator (Mongolian: С?хбаатар, also known as Sühbaatar, Sukhbaatar, Sukh, Sukhe-Bator, Bator means "hero" in Mongolian, and is an honorific title for Sukhe ) (1893-1923) leader of the Mongolian People's Republic. In 1919, he and Choi Bashan formed Mongolia's Communist Party, the Mongolian People's Party (now renamed the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party) in Kulun (today's Ulaanbaatar). From 1921 to 1923, he served as Minister of Military Affairs and Commander-in-Chief of the People's Army.
