The Historical Evolution of the Institute of Ancient Books of Jilin University

The first director of the Institute of Ancient Books of Jilin University is Professor Yao Xiaosui, a famous ancient philologist. Later, famous scholars Professor Lin Yun, Professor Wu Zhenwu and Professor Chen successively served as the directors of the Institute of Ancient Books. The current director is Professor Zhang. Professor Yu, a famous archaeologist, Professor Jin, a famous historian, and Professor Luo Jizu, a famous philologist, have all served as academic consultants of the Institute of Ancient Books.

After the establishment of the Institute of Ancient Books, the research rooms of ancient philology, pre-Qin literature and historical literature were established. Professors Yu, Jin and Luo Jizu are academic leaders in these three laboratories. Later, according to the needs of the development of the situation, 1998 established the China Calligraphy Literature Research Office, and the Pre-Qin Literature Research Office was renamed the Pre-Qin and Han Literature Research Office. At present, Dr. Feng is the director of the research office of ancient Chinese characters, Dr. Zhu Honglin is the director of the research office of documents in the pre-Qin and Han Dynasties, Dr. Zhang Guye is the director of the research office of historical documents, and Professor Cong Wenjun is the director of the research office of calligraphy documents in China.

After the establishment of the Institute of Ancient Books, it undertook the construction of two doctoral programs in ancient history and archaeology in China. Later, due to the adjustment of disciplines, the doctorate in archaeology was moved to the Department of Archaeology of Jilin University. From 65438 to 0998, the Institute of Ancient Books obtained a doctorate in historical philology by its own strength. In 2002, historical philology was approved as a key discipline in Jilin Province.

After the establishment of the Institute of Ancient Books, teachers in various research rooms published a large number of influential academic monographs and papers. Among them, the influential representative achievements of the research office of ancient Chinese characters are: Professor Yu's Oracle Bone Inscriptions and the Interpretation of Oracle Characters; Oracle Bone Inscriptions in Yin Ruins compiled by Professor Yao Xiaosui: Descriptions of Oracle Bone Inscriptions in Yin Ruins; Textual research on Xiaotun South Oracle Bone Inscriptions: Professor Wu Zhenwu's Zhenqinzhai Inscriptions Collection (Warring States Period); And professor Tang. The influential representative works of the Literature Research Office of the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties are: Professor Jin's Social History of Slaves in China (won the second prize of the first humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education), Four Kinds of Learning Changes, Professor Jin's Complete Interpretation of Zhouyi, Professor Lu Shaogang's New Interpretation of Shangshu Yuxia (won the second prize of the second humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education) and Professor Chen's Research on the Military System of the Pre-Qin Dynasty. The influential representative works of the Historical Literature Research Office are: Professor Luo Jizu's Wind Makes Wrong Words, Dong Hu's Record of Land Rover, Professor Wang Tongce's Notes on Caigen Tan, Professor Cong Wenjun's History of China Calligraphy (Pre-Qin and) and Dr. Zhang Guye's Book of Changes.

After the establishment of the Institute of Ancient Books, it undertook and completed a number of important projects of the National and National College Ancient Books Sorting Committee and the Ministry of Education, most of which achieved significant academic results.

After the establishment of the Institute of Ancient Books, a large number of doctoral and master students have been trained. 52 doctoral students and 203 master students have graduated. They play a key role in scientific research and teaching in universities across the country.

At present, the Institute of Ancient Books has 2 teachers 1 person, including 9 professors, 4 associate professors, 3 lecturers, 4 teaching assistants1person and 4 staff members.

At present, the Institute of Ancient Books undertakes two key projects of the National Philosophy and Social Science Fund, the National Philosophy and Social Science Fund 1 Youth Project; 2 general projects of National Philosophy and Social Science Foundation; 1 doctoral program funded by the State Education Commission; Sub-project of Xia Shang Zhou Dating Project of Ministry of Science and Technology1; Ministry of Education 1 Cross-century Talent Project; National Tenth Five-Year Plan Project of Ministry of Education1; There are 10 items of ancient books sorted by the National College Ancient Books Sorting Committee.

At present, the Institute of Ancient Books of Jilin University undertakes the construction of three doctoral programs in China, namely, ancient history, historical philology and Chinese philology, and recruits doctoral and master students in seven research directions, namely, ancient philology, historical philology, calligraphy literature, historical philology, pre-Qin history, Qin and Han history and Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties history. At present, there are 74 doctoral students and 3 master students1/kloc-0.

At present, the Institute of Ancient Books of Jilin University is a key research institute under the National College Ancient Books Sorting Committee. Compared with similar research institutes in China, it is in a leading position in discipline construction and scientific research strength. It should be said that it is one of the ancient books research institutes with great academic influence in China.
