First of all, judging from the discovery of meridians, meridians were mentioned in Huangdi Neijing more than 2000 years ago, and their walking direction was explained in detail. However, in today's highly developed science and technology, the application of modern science and technology can't find the trace of meridians, and I don't know what they are. Then, in ancient times when productivity was low, how did people get an understanding of meridians? According to some historical records and modern scientific experiments, the origin and formation of meridian theory are closely related to Qigong.
Li Shizhen, a famous medical scientist in Ming Dynasty, said in his "Examination of Eight Veins in Strange Classics": "Those who tunnel inside are also those who observe". "Inner tunnel" refers to the meridian system of human body, and "returning to view" can be understood as a static exercise method. The meaning of this sentence is that in some static movements, changes in human meridians can be detected. In the clinical practice of acupuncture, it is found that sometimes acupuncture at a certain point of a person will spread to the whole meridian, and such a person is called meridian sensitive person. This kind of person usually accounts for a small proportion in the crowd. When the non-meridian-sensitive people in the crowd are induced to enter the qigong state, the phenomenon and occurrence rate of meridian-sensitive people are greatly improved. The results of this experimental study also provide evidence for the close relationship between meridians and qigong.
On the other hand, Qigong also has the functions of dredging meridians, eliminating diseases and strengthening the body. Huangdi Neijing said: "Meridians determine life and death, deal with all diseases, and adjust excess and deficiency, which are indispensable." Traditional Chinese medicine believes that meridians are the channels through which qi and blood flow and distribute in all parts of the human body, and are an important system that connects all parts of the human body into a unified whole. Only when the meridian system is kept unobstructed can human qi and blood run normally and life run normally. If the meridian system is abnormal, the functional activities of the human body will be hindered and diseases will occur. During exercise, there may be vigorous circulation at the end and increased gland activity. These changes all indicate that Qigong exercise has the function of dredging meridians. In addition, many qigong exercises are compiled and created according to qigong principles under the influence of meridian theory. Li Shizhen, a medical scientist in the Ming Dynasty, repeatedly emphasized the importance of the Eight Classics in the Wonder Classics for practicing and diagnosing diseases, and thought that "if you treat the Eight Classics, you will get the great purpose of the Twelve Classics and the Fifteen Collaterals; Fairy and wisdom tiger have eight veins, dragon and tiger rise and fall, and the mysterious and subtle tricks are wonderful. Yang Jizhou, an acupuncturist, pointed out the close relationship between Ren Du's second pulse and martial arts in Acupuncture Dacheng, and thought that although there are many different techniques, it is impossible to leave Du Du's office. Zhang Xichun, a modern physician, also advocates that people who study medicine should practice Qigong, referring to Dan Jing.
To sum up, Qigong and meridians are closely related to each other. With modern scientific research revealing the essence of meridians and qigong mechanism, the relationship between qigong and meridians will be more clearly displayed in front of us.
