The genealogy of Mencius, a thinker in the Warring States period, introduces where Mencius' hometown is.

Mencius was a great thinker, educator and politician in the Warring States period. He is one of the most outstanding figures in the Meng family. The Montessori family originated from Lu Huangong's son Qingfu. The descendants of Qingfu were originally called Shi, and later they began to simplify to Meng.

Since Mencius, his son Meng Zhongzi has been passed down to the next 20 generations, and two sons were born in the 2nd1generation of Mengguan. After that, from the 23 rd, it was a single biography of ten generations. It was not until the thirty-third generation that a literary giant appeared in the Meng family. He is Meng Haoran, a famous pastoral poet in Tang Dynasty. Meng Haoran also gave birth to two sons, namely Meng Yunqing and Meng Tingyun, and Meng Yunqing also gave birth to two sons. Unfortunately, none of them has an heir.

Therefore, Meng Changqian, the eldest son of Meng Tingjue, became the direct descendant of the Meng family, that is, the 36th generation descendant. Meng Changqian gave birth to a son and his eldest son Meng Zunqing. Meng Zunqing also gave birth to two sons, and then the Meng family began the history of single biography. Until the 45th generation of Ning Meng.

As the imperial court began to pay attention to respect for Mencius' theory, Ning Meng was appreciated by the imperial court, and his position in society gradually improved, which made the Montessori family re-enter the revival period. Therefore, the Montessori family also called Ning Meng "the founder of Zhongxing". And Ning Meng is the 45th generation of Mencius.

So, basically from Mencius to Ning Meng, it was handed down. From the fiftieth generation of Montessori family, Montessori family began to realize that they were ranked according to seniority. However, it was in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, so Montessori descendants began to disperse.

After the Ming court showed unprecedented respect for Confucianism, Ming Chengzu began to give preferential treatment to Mencius' descendants, so the rules of naming by seniority became stricter and stricter. In the Ming Dynasty, Montessori arranged for twenty generations. During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, there were ten more generations.

During the Republic of China, the Montessori family established 20 word generations again through the approval of Beiyang at that time.

Mencius' hometown

Mencius, born in 37 BC and died in 89 BC, was a great statesman, thinker and educator in the Warring States Period. He was born in Zouguo, which is now Zoucheng County, Shandong Province. It is said that he is a descendant of Qing Fu, but his father died young and lived alone with his mother. He learned from Confucius' grandson Zi Si and wrote seven pieces of Mencius, which is one of the four books and five classics.

Zoucheng is one of the oldest cities in China, and is known as "Holy Land of Zou Lu" and "Hometown of Confucius and Mencius". Now it is one of the county-level cities in Shandong Province, managed by Jining City. Located in the south of Shandong, near the hometown of Confucius, Qufu.

The former residence of Mencius is about 13km south of Qufu, which is the birthplace of Mencius, a famous Chinese thinker. In the local area, villagers spontaneously come to worship Mencius every year, and the scale of the ceremony is considerable. What we are seeing now is the hometown of Mencius, which was restored in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. Existing relics include Mencius' hometown square, Mencius' former residence, Meng Mu Spring, Meng Mu Well and Meng Mu Pool. These cultural relics are called one of the key cultural relics protection units in Shandong Province. There is only one main hall in the old house of Mengfu, which is about 5m high, 1 1 m long and 7m deep. In front of the temple, there is a pool, which is Meng Mu Pool.

Interestingly, the story of the famous "Three Major Movements in Meng Mu" originated here. Now you can see a grave near Mencius' former residence. Seeing Mencius kowtowing at the grave like others, Meng Mu felt that this place was not suitable for his son's growth, so he moved to the market to make a brief introduction of Mencius, and finally moved to Gong Xue, and finally called Mencius education a great thinker.
