"China sees Tianjin for a hundred years" is one of the most important basic exhibitions in Tianjin Museum. The exhibition shows the 100-year history of Tianjin from the Opium War to the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC). It shows that in the historical process of striving for national independence and realizing national prosperity, Tianjin people have endured humiliation and shouldered heavy burdens, and generations of people with lofty ideals have made arduous explorations and indomitable struggles on the land of Jingu. From the aspects of resisting foreign aggression, political reform, economic development, cultural blending and the new-democratic revolution led by China's * * * production party, this paper highlights the historical position of modern Tianjin in China for nearly a hundred years, and reveals the tortuous course of Tianjin's development into the largest industrial and commercial city in northern China and the frontier of the intersection of Chinese and Western cultures.
