In 2009, Shaanxi police arrested a large number of people behind the theft of cultural relics, that is, grave robbers as the saying goes. The leader of the grave robbers is a man named Vencent Yang. The criminal gang headed by Vencent Yang is closely related to the stone ball case in Jingling, Wu Huifei. They have been profiting from selling murals in Wu Huifei's tomb.
According to the testimony provided by Vencent Yang, the police successfully recovered Tang Zhenshun's queen Wu Huifei from the United States, leaving this national treasure behind. In the process of searching for the sarcophagus, the police also searched Vencent Yang's home and obtained a hard disk with a large number of ancient tomb materials. The hard disk is full of murals of the Tang Dynasty. After some inquiries, Yang Bin told us that this tomb is a group of ancient tombs in the Tang Dynasty, located in guo zhuang cun, Chang 'an District, Xi City.
After the archaeologists arrived here, they all thought it was a treasure trove of geomantic omen, because many celebrities of the Tang Dynasty were buried here. To the west are the tombs of the Webster family and the Wuji family in Sun Chang in the Tang Dynasty, to the south is the Jingling Mausoleum in Wu Huifei, and to the east is the family tomb of the Prime Minister Du Ruhui in the Tang Dynasty. The tomb where the murals displayed on the hard disk are located is located in Shaoling Plain, two kilometers southeast of Ling Du.
Archaeologists have not revealed the identity of the owner of the tomb and continue to dig the ancient tomb, but they don't have much expectation for the cultural relics left inside. Because the grave was seriously damaged by grave robbers, the grave robbers dug six stolen holes, which is the trace of Vencent Yang's repeated crimes.
According to speculation, it is not difficult to guess that this tomb owner who has not yet solved the mystery of his identity also has a very distinguished identity. Sure enough, after the mausoleum was successfully excavated and integrated according to the information of cultural relics, the owner of this mausoleum was also in a high position, which was the tomb of Han Xiu, the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty, and his wife Liu. Although Han Xiu didn't reach fame, he was indeed the prime minister of the Xuanzong period of the Tang Dynasty, and he was a man who didn't seek fame and fortune in history. He was particularly upright and had no stain in his life.
This mass grave is very big, which is why Vencent Yang and others will come here again and again to commit crimes. After investigation, it is concluded that the depth of this tomb is 1 1 m, and it is about 40 meters away from the tomb. It is a very advanced mausoleum composed of four holes, five patios and long slopes, second only to the mausoleum of the emperor in the Tang Dynasty.
The more archaeologists investigate, the more they feel sorry for this level of grave robbery. The only thing that makes them happy is that the internal structure of the tomb is relatively complete and has not been greatly damaged, and it can also be studied and analyzed. But they never imagined that there would be unexpected happiness.
The cultural relics in the tomb have long been stolen by grave robbers, but the walls of the tomb are covered with exquisite murals, and all three sides are covered with murals except the entrance. Music and dance maps and landscape maps are well preserved and exquisite.
The people who play music and dance in the music and dance picture are lifelike, and there is also a banana tree in the music and dance picture, which is very rare in the northwest murals and people can't help but look at it carefully. The landscape map is 2.2 meters high and 2 meters wide, showing you a pair of pavilions surrounded by red borders. This is the first large-scale landscape mural in the Tang Dynasty. The research value behind this mural is immeasurable, which can make archaeologists feel happy and excited.
Conclusion:
Finally, these murals were moved to Shaanxi Museum by professionals as a whole. After the exhibition, the whole world made a sensation and the murals were beautiful.
I have to say, what the grave robbers did was disgusting. Because of their personal selfishness, many of our cultural relics were destroyed or exiled abroad. As a China person, we should always be in awe of cultural relics, instead of adding insult to injury. You and I are very encouraged.
