The Song Dynasty inherited the Tang Dynasty, but did not continue the costume culture of the Tang Dynasty. Although the Song Dynasty was politically enlightened, due to the internal troubles and foreign invasion caused by the imprisonment of Zhu Cheng's Neo-Confucianism at that time, the costumes of the Song Dynasty retreated from the gorgeous and prosperous clothes, simple and conservative, and the colors were elegant. Compared with the open form of the Tang Dynasty, the clothes of the Song Dynasty have many hidden parts, and women of the Tang Dynasty are not allowed to carry them in the Song Dynasty.
Except for some administrative ladies, ordinary people's clothes are the most common. Women's clothing in the Song Dynasty is very well combined with tradition, which has the feeling of many Chinese classical styles, but men's clothing mostly inherits the clothing in the Tang Dynasty, but there are fewer colors and styles.
In the Song Dynasty, civilian women wore clothes with narrow sleeves in the first half and long skirts in the second half. They are used to wearing a dress similar to our vest outside their coats, and embroidered beautiful patterns on the neckline of the clothes as decoration. The usual costumes of women in the Song Dynasty also included some ladies. Most of the clothes they usually wear are coats, jackets, jackets, shirts, suspenders, half arms, skirts and trousers. Their styles are generally embroidered on the hem, neckline and cuffs of clothes, inlaid with fate. The skirt was always open, and then the underwear was exposed.
In the Song Dynasty, women's underwear was also very distinctive. In addition to the close-fitting "tube top", that is, a Chinese-style corset, a brocade scarf is also worn around the waist, which is called "abdominal circumference". Its color is yellow, which means wealth and good luck.
