What is the method of differentiation of six meridians?

Differentiation of Six Meridians is a syndrome differentiation and treatment system of exogenous fever founded by Zhang Zhongjing, a famous doctor in the Eastern Han Dynasty, which is of great significance in the history of Chinese medicine development. As for the essence of the Six Meridians, researchers in past dynasties have put forward different opinions, but generally they think it is related to the meridians of the human body. Meridian and zang-fu organs are an inseparable whole of human body, so the disease of one meridian is likely to affect the other meridian, so the diseases of the six meridians are mutually transmitted. Generally speaking, the six meridians spread, and most yang diseases start from the sun and then spread to Yangming and Shaoyang. If healthy qi is insufficient, it can also spread to Yin San. Yin syndrome mostly starts from Taiyin and then spreads to Shaoyin and Jueyin, but there are also pathogenic factors that directly affect Sanyin. In short, the spread of diseases and pathogens is mostly from the outside to the inside, from the real to the virtual; But in the case of restoring good and evil, it can also be from the inside out, from virtual to real. The former is the spread of pathogenic factors, and the latter is the outcome of diseases, so this evolution is closely related to the influence of various objective factors. The severity of pathogenic factors, physical strength and proper treatment are the main factors that determine the spread of the disease. If the patient's constitution is weak, or the treatment is improper, although yang syndrome can also be transferred to; On the contrary, if the disease is properly cared and treated, Yin syndrome can also be transferred out of Sanyang. Therefore, although there is no fixed form of disease transmission and change, it always depends on the syndrome range of six meridians. Therefore, as long as the boundaries of the six meridians are clearly defined, the syndrome of the six meridians can be identified.

First of all, the sun syndrome

The sun is the human body's barrier, the main muscle surface, and the invasion of external evils mostly comes from the sun, rising to fight against evil spirits, so the first manifestation is solar disease.

Main pulse syndrome of taiyang disease: floating pulse, strong headache and aversion to cold.

This is the basic pulse condition of solar disease. Anyone who has this pulse condition can be identified as sun disease in the process of the occurrence and development of exogenous diseases, but when he sees this pulse condition.

The pathogenesis of taiyang disease is that exogenous pathogens invade the muscle surface, and healthy qi resists exogenous pathogens, so the pulse condition should also float. The meridians of the foot sun run from the head to the back of the body; The meridians of the sun are softened by evil, so the head and neck are sore. Bad cold, including bad wind, is caused by the invasion of external evils and depression.

Taiyang disease is different from meridian syndrome and fu-organ syndrome.

(1) The syndromes of taiyang disease are the same as taiyang disease because of patients' different feelings about pathogenic factors and constitution, and there are also differences between apoplexy and typhoid fever.

1. solar apoplexy syndrome

Clinical manifestations: fever, bad wind, headache, slow pulse, spontaneous sweating, sometimes accompanied by nasal congestion and vomiting.

Solar stroke refers to wind evil caused by trauma, which is different from sudden fainting stroke. The main pathogenesis of solar stroke is the imbalance between camp and health.

Syndrome analysis: the sun dominates the table and controls the camp and health. Wei is yang, and work is the mainstay; Camp is yin and has nutritional effect. Yang is the messenger of vulva, and Yin is the guardian of inner Yang. Today, when evil winds attack from the outside, Weiyang floats out and radiates heat when he is sick. The so-called "yang floating is self-heating". It is precisely because Weiyang floats outside and loses the function of opening and closing outside, so Yingyin can't stay inside and sweat out, and sweating out is weak. The so-called "Yin weak sweat". Because sweating muscles are slack and nourishing yin is insufficient, the pulse is slow. Sweat makes muscles sparse, so it is evil. Vomiting and retching are due to stagnation of pathogenic wind, which affects the lung and stomach. Because of excessive sweating, this syndrome is also called exterior syndrome, and it is not an absolute deficiency syndrome of exterior syndrome of sun typhoid fever.

2. Sun typhoid syndrome

Clinical manifestations: fever, aversion to cold, strong headache, body pain, asthma and anhidrosis, and tight pulse.

This is a syndrome caused by cold pathogen attacking the exterior, stomach yang being suppressed, and stagnation of camp and health.

Syndrome analysis: pathogenic factors are limited to the exterior, so they hate cold, and defend qi against pathogenic factors, so they cause fever. At first, some people didn't have a fever, but the cold evil attacked first, but it was suppressed and there was no phenomenon of competing with evil. If weiyang is suppressed, it will inevitably compete with evil, that is, there will be fever. So the clinical manifestations of typhoid fever are mostly aversion to cold and fever. Wei yang is restrained, yin is also affected by evil depression, and the bones and muscles lose heat, so the joints of the body are painful. The acupoints were blocked, so there was no sweating. The vital qi is outside, and the cold pathogen is tied to the exterior, so the pulse is tight. The lung dominates breathing while the coating dominates the outside, and the pathogenic factors are bound to the outside, and the muscle carbuncle loses its propaganda, which will inevitably affect the lung. Because lung qi is unfavorable, breathing is short of breath. Because there is no sweat, it is also called exterior syndrome.

(II) Syndrome of Sun-related Diseases with Fu-organs

1. Water storage certificate

Clinical manifestations: hyperhidrosis, stomach dryness, irritability, insomnia, dysuria, slight fever, thirst, or sharbat, vomiting in water, and pulse floating.

Syndrome analysis: the meridian of foot sun is connected with the bladder meridian and fu-organs. After sweating due to sunstroke, bladder hydrops is mainly manifested as dysuria. The thirst in the stomach is caused by excessive sweating.

2. Blood storage syndrome

Clinical manifestations: sun sickness, bladder fever, mania, short and acute abdomen.

Syndrome analysis: the sun disease is not solved, and the blood is stored in the bladder, so the abdomen is urgent; Disturbed his mind, so he went crazy.

Second, Yangming disease syndrome

Yangming disease is caused by the unhealed sun disease and the gradual overflow of pathogenic factors. It can be seen in the extreme stage of exogenous diseases. At this stage, the yang is strong and the evil is from the strongest heat. In nature, it belongs to interior excess heat syndrome.

Yangming disease can be divided into meridian syndrome and fu-organ syndrome.

(1) Syndrome of Yangming disease

Clinical manifestations: body heat, sweating, thirst, red face and upset, dry and yellow tongue coating and heavy pulse.

This is the syndrome that evil heat permeates the whole body and fills the meridians of Yangming, but there is no dry stool.

Syndrome analysis: pathogenic factors enter Yangming, excessive dryness and heat, and full of Yangming meridians, so the whole body is hot. Yangming pulse is glorious on the face, and the heat rises, so the face is red. Heat forces body fluids to ooze, so you sweat. Sweat and body fluid can not continue, thirst leads to drinking water. Yangming is full of heat and steaming in his heart, so he is upset. The heat hurts, so the tongue coating is dry and yellow. The heat is very yang-hyperactive, and Yangming is a meridian full of qi and blood, which is forced by the heat, so the pulse is extensive.

(II) Syndrome of Yangming Fu-organs

Clinical manifestations: hot flashes in the sun, sweating in hands and feet, abdominal distension and pain, constipation, or suffocation in the abdomen, even delirium, delirium, insomnia, thick Huang Gan tongue coating, prickly edges, even scorching, heavy pulse, or slippery number.

This is the syndrome of dry stool and internal stagnation caused by pathogenic heat and intestinal residue.

Syndrome analysis: This syndrome is more serious than meridian syndrome. Yangming meridian of foot is connected with large intestine, and Yangming meridian is full of heat, which leads to this syndrome. Yangming meridian syndrome, excessive sweating due to heat, or misuse of sweating to make body fluid leak, so the intestine is dry, the internal heat is even worse, and the stool is dry and knotted, resulting in fu-organ syndrome. During the daytime, Yangming's meridians are full of qi, while Yangming's limbs are full of qi, and the heat of the large intestine and viscera permeates the meridians, so it is hot during the day, and his hands and feet sweat. Heat and dregs fill the intestine, but it doesn't work, so the navel and abdomen swell and pain, constipation and knot. When the stool is dry, the internal knot is blocked, and the gas in the abdomen often turns from bottom to top. When pathogenic heat is flourishing and steaming in the heart palace, delirium, frenzy, insomnia and other symptoms will appear. Because of internal heat, body fluid is robbed, so the fur is yellow, dry, prickly or burnt. Dry heat accumulates in the intestine, the intestine stagnates, and the pathogenic heat is acute, so the pulse is slow and firm, or slippery.

Third, shaoyang syndrome

Clinical manifestations: bitter mouth, dry throat, dizziness, cold and fever, fullness in chest and hypochondrium, hey hey, aversion to food, upset and vomiting, white or thin yellow fur, thready pulse, etc.

According to its location, shaoyang disease has left the exterior and interior of the sun, but it has not entered the interior of Yangming, just between the exterior and interior. Therefore, in the mechanism of pathological changes, it belongs to heat syndrome of half exterior and half interior.

Syndrome analysis: Shaoyang is located in half exterior and half interior. Treatise on Febrile Diseases takes bitter taste, dry throat and dizziness as the general principle of syndrome differentiation. Because shaoyang is sick, pathogenic heat fumigates, gallbladder heat rises, resulting in bitterness, burning body fluid, and dry throat, the eyes are outside the liver and gallbladder, and shaoyang wind and fire rise, so it is dizzy. In addition, when pathogenic factors enter between the exterior and interior of shaoyang, and the positive and evil are contending, and the positive and evil are invincible, then the cold is hated, and the positive and evil are better than the evil, then the fever is generated, so the interaction of cold and heat is also one of the characteristics of shaoyang disease. The pulse of shaoyang is distributed in the ribs, and the heat is depressed and shaoyang, so the chest and hypochondrium are full of bitterness. When the gallbladder is hot and depressed, the stomach is dry and the stomach is disturbed by heat, hey hey don't want to eat. When the sun is low and the wood is on the contrary, it bothers you. When gallbladder water invades, the stomach soil will humiliate itself, and the stomach will be attacked by evil, which will lead to the loss of its routine, but it will go against the qi, so it will always vomit, and the liver and gallbladder will be depressed by the sick qi, which is based on the pulse string.

Fourth, Taiyin syndrome

Clinical manifestations: full stomach, vomiting, inability to eat, self-interest, thirst and abdominal pain. Or the tongue coating is white and greasy, and the pulse is weak.

The nature of Taiyin disease belongs to internal deficiency and cold and dampness. Spleen belongs to Taiyin, similar to Yangming's stomach. When the stomach yang is strong, the evil changes from dryness and heat, and when the spleen yang is insufficient, the evil changes from cold and dampness. So Yangming disease belongs to interior excess fever, and Taiyin disease belongs to interior deficiency cold disease. Because the spleen and stomach are in the central state, the two meridians can be transformed into each other. For example, Yangming disease with insufficient middle qi can be transformed into Taiyin; Taiyin disease and gradually recovering Zhongyang can also be transformed into Yangming. Clinically, anyone who is deficient in qi due to Sanyang disease is easy to turn into spleen-stomach deficiency and cold syndrome, which is called "meridian transmission"; If the internal yang is insufficient, it is called "straight middle"; Regardless of meridians or meridians, the above syndromes can be diagnosed as Taiyin disease.

Syndrome analysis: spleen and soil deficiency and cold, which is not conducive to qi movement, then the abdomen is full; Abdominal pain will occur when cold pathogen is blocked. Abdominal distension and pain in Taiyin disease is very different from dry stool in Yangming disease. Those who suffer from dry stool will be covered with pain and the pain will be rejected; Taiyin disease is full, and the pain is virtual, so the abdomen shrinks when it is full, and I like to rub it with warm hands. Because the middle energizer is deficient in cold, it can't eat or be selfish, and its evil is transformed from cold and dampness, and the lower energizer is not injured, and the body fluid can be transported, so the mouth of Taiyin is not thirsty, but in the case of severe vomiting, it may feel thirsty, but it doesn't like to drink, or it likes hot drinks but not much. The evil of cold and dampness permeates the Taiyin, so the tongue coating is white and greasy, and the pulse is slow and weak.

5. shaoyin disease syndrome shaoyin disease belongs to systemic deficiency-cold syndrome. Shaoyin meridian belongs to the heart and kidney, is the viscera of fire and water, and is the foundation of human body. If the heart and kidney function are weakened and the disease resistance is weak, it is Shaoyin disease. Shaoyin disease can turn from yin to cold and from yang to heat, so there are two different syndromes of cold and heat in clinic.

(1) cold syndrome of shaoyin disease

Clinical manifestations: no fever and aversion to cold, thready pulse, but drowsiness, cold limbs, diarrhea, vomiting, inability to eat, or vomiting immediately after eating; Or my pulse is heartbroken, but I'm not afraid of cold, even my face is red.

Cold syndrome of shaoyin disease is a common syndrome in the course of shaoyin disease, which is mostly due to yang deficiency and pathogenic factors entering from yin, so it shows the general signs of deficiency and cold, which is different from stomach deficiency and cold syndrome of Taiyin disease.

Syndrome analysis: yin and yang are weak, yin and cold are dominant, and there is no heat and cold. The so-called "those who have no heat and hate cold originate in yin", that is, "Yang deficiency causes external cold". The decline of Yang Qi can't encourage blood circulation, because the pulse is thin; "If there is yang, the essence will nourish the spirit". Nowadays, the yang is declining and the spirit has no support, so I am in a confused state of "but I want to sleep", that is, I look tired and tired. In addition, yang deficiency and cold prevail, and limbs cannot be warmed outside. The limbs are rooted and cold; The spleen and stomach can't be warm and full of haze, which is conducive to clearing the valley. If you vomit, you can't eat it, or you will vomit immediately after eating it. It should be clear here that benefiting from lunar disease is different from those who are self-interested and not thirsty. Due to shaoyin disease, Yang Qi decreased, and it could not be gasified into body fluid. At the same time, body fluid leaked out, so shaoyin was beneficial and thirsty every time. If the Taiyin purges, the Yang in the lower jiao is not affected, and purges are not as good as purges in the lower yin, then purges in Taiyin disease are not thirsty, which is the difference between them. If the yin and cold are extremely abundant in the lower part and the residual yang is rejected in the upper part, there will be a "Dai Yang" illusion that the yang floats in the upper part.

(2) heat syndrome of shaoyin disease

Clinical manifestations: upset, unable to lie flat, dry mouth and throat, red tongue tip and rapid pulse.

This is the syndrome of yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity, which changes from yang to heat.

Syndrome analysis: the syndrome of shaoyin disease is yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity, which is just the opposite of the syndrome of shaoyin disease and cold. Pathogen entering shaoyin is the dirty of fire and water, which can turn from yin to cold and from yang to heat. When the heat turns, the vaginal fluid burns and cannot be carried out, so the mouth is dry and throat is dry; Water deficiency can not help the mind, but the heart is full of fire, yang is not in yin, and yin deficiency is not accepted by yang, so it is upset and insomnia. Moreover, due to the inflammation of the heart fire, the vaginal fluid is consumed, so a series of symptoms such as dry mouth and throat, red tongue tip and rapid pulse appear.

Six, Jue Yin disease syndrome

Clinical manifestations: thirst quenching, qi rushing to the heart, pain and fever in the heart, hunger without eating, vomiting with eating.

Jueyin disease is the late stage of the disease in the course of the disease. At this stage, healthy qi and pathogenic qi compete with each other, and the manifestations of pathological changes are extremely complicated. Foot Jueyin meridian belongs to liver collaterals and gallbladder supporting stomach, so its pathological changes are extremely complicated, but in a nutshell, its diseases are mostly manifested as three systems of syndromes of liver, gallbladder and stomach, and its clinical characteristics are confrontation of yin and yang, alternating cold and heat. Due to the difference of pathological changes and the growth and decline of good and evil, the mechanism of overcoming rehabilitation by upper heat and lower cold and syncope heat is also different.

Syndrome analysis: The main symptom of Jueyin disease is upper heat and lower cold. Because Jue yin is the exhaustion of yin, it shows that yin and yang tend to be extreme, with yang heat in the upper part and yin cold in the lower part. The first three main symptoms are upper focus injury and heat disturbance; The latter is deficiency and cold of the lower intestine. Ascaris migrates because of the change of habitat and the lack of food, so it has the symptoms of vomiting when eating.

7. Complications, complications, meridian conduction, and six meridians straightening.

Comorbidity

Two or three kinds of meridian diseases occur at the same time as comorbidity, such as "Taiyang Yangming comorbidity" when Taiyang typhoid syndrome or apoplexy syndrome and Yangming disease occur at the same time; The disease of Sanyang meridian is "Sanyang disease" and so on.

(2) Concurrent diseases are called concurrent diseases, which are different from diseases with two meridians at the same time. For example, sun disease, sweating is incomplete, so it belongs to Yangming and merges with Sun Yangming; Shaoyang disease develops further, involving Yangming, or Yangming syndrome does not stop, combined with Yangming syndrome; And symptoms such as severe pain in the head and neck, dizziness, chest tightness, and whipping under the heart. In fact, this is a form of disease transmission.

(3) Pass on the scriptures

The transformation of pathogenic factors from exterior to interior, from one syndrome to another, is called "transmitting classics". Menstruation is not transmitted, depending on the severity of evil, the physical strength of the disease, and whether it needs treatment. Strong pathogenic factors, weak vital qi, will change; When healthy qi prevails and pathogenic factors recede, the disease will be cured. For those who are physically strong, the changes of the disease are mostly in the Sanyang meridian; Weak body, easy to introduce three yin. In addition, sweating and mistaking down can also be introduced into Yangming, and Yin San can be introduced through paths other than Shaoyang and Yangming, but the three diseases of Yin do not necessarily come from Yang meridian, and sometimes exogenous pathogens can be introduced into Yin San. The general laws of Buddhist scripture transmission are as follows:

1. Classic Biography

It was handed down in the order of six meridians. Sun disease does not heal, and it is introduced to Yangming, and Yangming disease does not heal, and it is introduced to Shaoyang; If the disease of Sanyang is not cured, it will spread to Yin San, first of all, Taiyin, then Shaoyin, and finally Jueyin. It is said that there are people who preach the sun-shaoyang-Yangming-Taiyin-Jueyin-Shaoyin.

2. Jing Yue Chuan

Not in the above order, every other time or every other time. For example, if the sun fails to heal, it will be transmitted to Yangming instead of Shaoyang, or directly to Taiyin instead of Shaoyang and Yangming. The reasons for the spread of classics are mostly due to the exuberance of evil spirits and the lack of healthy qi.

internally and externally

That is, from generation to generation. For example, the sun enters Shaoyin, Yangming enters Taiyin, and Shaoyang enters Jueyin. From the exterior to the interior, it is a syndrome of excess of evil and deficiency of righteousness, from excess to deficiency, and the condition is aggravated, which is synonymous with Jing Yue's biography.

(4) Direct secondary schools

All pathogenic factors were not introduced from the Yang meridian at first, but entered the Yin meridian, showing that the Three Yin meridians were straight in the middle.

All of the above are from the outside to the inside, from yang to yin. In addition, there is a syndrome of yin disease changing from yin to yang. The so-called transformation of yin disease to the sun refers to the transformation of three-yin disease to three-yang syndrome, which is a sign that healthy qi is gradually restored and the disease is cured.
