Full text translation:

Sima Guang was the prime minister in Song Zhezong's time, and he once edited "As a Mirror", which was a famous prime minister at that time. When he was a child, he was worried that his ability to recite poems was not as good as others. Everyone studied and discussed together. The other brothers had already finished reciting and went to play and have a rest, but he studied hard alone until he could recite it skillfully.

He himself said: if you study hard now, you will get long-term gains. He will never forget the books he has recited. After a long time, I have read all the ancient books, and I am well informed and have a solid memory. He said: I have to recite it when I study. When I am walking on horseback, when I can't sleep in the middle of the night, I will recite the articles I have read and think about its significance, and I will gain more.

Original text:

Sima Guang, the prime minister of Song Zhezong, was a famous minister at that time. When he was a child, he had an inhuman memory. His brothers all started chanting and wandered away. They stayed at home alone. Once they can satirize it, it is already. He said to himself, "Those who work hard will go far, but they will never forget." And the dragon, browsing ancient books, has a good knowledge, Zhiqiang, saying: "Books must be memorized. Or immediately, or when you don't sleep in the middle of the night, recite its words and think about its meaning, and you will get more. "

Sima Guang's studiousness stems from Song Zhuxi's Records of the Words and Actions of Famous Officials in Three Dynasties.
