The "Book of Saving People", listed as the first of all scriptures in the "Orthodox Taoist Canon" and the sect of Wanfa, is said to have been handed down by Master Xu Zhenren of Taiji in the Wu Dynasty of the Three Kingdoms. It is mentioned in it: "Beidou" "The Big Dipper is for life, and the South Dou is for death." After Taoism, the Big Dipper was deified and became the seven star kings responsible for life and longevity. "Shang Qing Jing" says: The Big Dipper, the first Tianshu Palace is Si Mingxingjun; the second day Xuan Palace is Silu Xingjun; the third Tianji Palace is Lucun Xingjun; the fourth Tianquan is The fifth palace is the longevity star Lord; the fifth Yuheng Palace is the benefit star Lord; the sixth Kaiyang Palace is the Due Star Lord; the seventh Yaoguang Palace is the Loving Mother Star Lord, collectively known as the Qisi Star Lord. The temple dedicated to worshiping the Big Dipper is called the Big Dipper Temple. Because Beidou specializes in survival, it is also called "Yanzushi" among the Han people.

The next day, Zhao Yan entered Nanshan with a cup and plate of preserved wine. After walking about five or six miles, there were two people playing chess on a rock under a big pine tree, completely ignoring them. Zhao Yan knelt down and drank wine. The two of them were so obsessed with chess that they didn't realize they had finished drinking. Zhao Yan cried and worshiped on the ground, praying for longevity. The two were shocked.
The man in red robe said: This must be Guanzi's words. Since the two of us have suffered from his selfishness, we must pity him.
The man in the white robe took out the books and checked them, and said to Zhao Yan: You are nineteen years old and should die. I now add the word nineteen to the cross, and your life span will be ninety-nine. When I see you later, I will teach you to stop leaking the secrets of heaven; otherwise, you will be punished by heaven.
The one wearing red took out his pen and finished it. A gust of fragrant wind passed by, and the two turned into two white cranes and soared into the sky.
Zhao Yangui asked Guan Ren. Ren said: If you wear red, you will be a southern dipper; if you are wearing white, you will be a northern dipper. Yan said: I heard that among the nine stars of the Big Dipper, there is more than one person? Luan said: When scattered, they become nine, and when combined, they become one. The Big Dipper is your destiny, the South Dipper is your destiny. Now that the longevity calculation has been added, why should you worry? Father and son thank you. From then on, Guan Ren was afraid of revealing the secrets of heaven, and he did not take it lightly as a divination.
It is said that Peng Zu’s original name was Peng Xiu, and the seven stars of the Big Dipper lived their lives separately. As a result, Peng Xiu lived to be more than 800 years old, and was known as Peng Zu.
