After entering politics, he paid attention to the study of practical application, and later devoted himself to teaching western learning by teaching computing. He is one of the earliest Catholics in Shaanxi. He has made great contributions to spreading western science and promoting cultural exchanges, and is known as the "King of South Xu (Guangqi) and North".
