Aviation ancient books

Generally speaking, foreign countries recorded in Chinese ancient books are named according to their pronunciation. For example, it is recorded in Hanshu Biography of the Western Regions: "The Western Regions began to pass through from the time of filial piety, with 36 countries, and then slightly divided into more than 50, all in the west of Xiongnu and south of Wusun." Rest, live comfortably, relax and so on in this "36 countries in the western regions". These names don't look like country names at all. You can tell at a glance that they are transliterated directly. However, there are also some countries with decent names, such as Dashi, Daqin, April and Dahan, whose names are very similar to those of China's dynasties.

During the Tang and Song Dynasties, China called the Arabian Empire a "big food". Daqin refers to the Roman Empire, while Daxia is located in Bactria, which is now Afghanistan. Many people have never heard of Dahan. If this name is understood in China, many people may think it is a huge empire. After all, the name of China Han Dynasty is too loud. A country that can be named a "big shot" should be quite extraordinary. Experts say, but in fact, on the contrary, this country is not only far from the Han Dynasty, but also very small.

Although the "Big Man Country" sounds magnificent, it is not recorded in China's ancient books because it is small and far away. The earliest records came from Liang Shu and recorded the history of the Southern Dynasties. There is such a record in the biography of Liang Shu Dongyi: "The kingdom of Dahan is more than 5,000 miles east of the tattoo kingdom. No fighting, no fighting. Customs are the same as tattoos, but the words are different. "

Although this kind of record is simple, it generally introduces a wide range of locations and the overall situation, but it can also be seen that Dahan is far from the Central Plains. So how far is it? Since the tattoo country is the coordinate in the record, we must first know where the tattoo country is. According to Liang Shu, the tattoo country is located more than 7,000 miles northeast of Japan, which means Japan. According to this direction, the tattooing country is likely to be from Kuril Islands to Sakhalin Island and then to the east of tattooing country, so Dahan should be located in the east of Siberia.

Hundreds of years later, the Biography of the New Tang Dynasty also recorded the state of Dahan, and the Book of the New Tang Dynasty also recorded the origin of Dahan's name: "The word is high, so it is named after it." Because people in this country are very tall, they call themselves big men. However, the geographical position of this Dahan country recorded in the Book of the New Tang Dynasty is completely different from that of Liang Shu. It is located in the basins of Lake Baikal and Yeseni River. Although it is located in Siberia with Liang Shu and Dahan, it is close to Wan Li and should not be the same country.

However, the naming of Dahan Kingdom in the Book of the New Tang Dynasty has inspired many scholars. Through research, it is found that this group points to the American continent. Many people think that America and Siberia are far apart, but in fact, there is only one Bering Strait between them. Now there are some opinions that some residents of the Asian continent migrated from the Bering Strait to America about 1 10,000 years ago and became local aborigines, but the Bering Strait at that time should not be a strait.

After they arrived in America, these people were divided into two groups. Native American Indians live in temperate and tropical regions, Eskimos and Inuit people live in cold regions. The name "Inuit" means "man", which can be associated with Dahan country because the meaning of "Dahan" can also be understood as "man". Although this is only a hypothesis, it leads to a very surprising possibility-did China people know about the existence of the American continent during the Northern and Southern Dynasties? But in fact, this is unlikely.

At that time, it was easier for China people to know another people, that is, the Yupik people not far from the Inuit gathering place. Yupik people are very similar to Inuit people, but they live in the easternmost part of Eurasia, which is the Chukchi Peninsula adjacent to the Bering Strait.

Sometimes, they are called Eskimos like Inuit, because their language is the same language family, which is very close to Inuit. It is thought-provoking that the word "Yupik" means "real person".

This meaning is actually closer to the meaning of "big shot", and the living location of Yupik people is very close to the location of the big shot country recorded in Liang Shu. This area is vast and sparsely populated, and the environment is harsh, so there is basically no war with other ethnic groups, which is also in line with Liang Shu's record that they have no weapons and will not fight with other ethnic groups.

To sum up, Yupik people may be the "big country" recorded by Liang Shu. However, it has nothing to do with the Han Dynasty. The reason why they are recorded as "big shots" in history books is very simple, because their self-proclaimed names have been translated into "big shots". This archaeological discovery also shows that in fact, in the corner of ancient books, there are many, many histories that we can explore.
