There are two disputes about Boya Guqin site: one is Boya Qintai on the lakeside of Yuehu Lake in Hanyang District, Wuhan, and the other is Diaokou in Diaoguan Town, Shishou City. Hanyang Guqintai was built in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, destroyed by artillery fire in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period and rebuilt after liberation. Diaoguan Pavilion was built in the Song Dynasty, but it was destroyed in the Republic of China due to disrepair, and it has not been restored yet.
Guqintai was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and was destroyed many times in previous dynasties. Most of the existing buildings were rebuilt after 1949. The newly-built Guqintai is small in scale and exquisitely laid out. The main buildings are courtyards, gardens, flower beds, tea rooms and distinct levels.
