The word "kendo" first appeared in a conversation between Gou Jian, the king of Yue, and Yue Nv, a swordsman, in the ancient book "Wu Yue Chun Qiu" written by China during the Warring States Period. In ancient China, practicing sword was once called kendo, and there were 38 kendo in History of Literature and Art (unfortunately, its contents were lost in Taiwan Province Province). It can be seen that the ancient kendo in China has a fairly complete theoretical system. For example, the article "Zhuangzi Jian Shuo" said that "the strategic and tactical requirements of the ancient kendo in China are similar to those of the later Japanese kendo, but because China is a vast multi-ethnic country, the shape of the sword has become diversified due to different reasons. One-handed sword and two-handed sword have coexisted for thousands of years, and there are differences in the way of holding the sword and the specific offensive and defensive skills. In terms of spiritual connotation, especially in the unprecedented Warring States period, different ideological systems such as Confucianism, Taoism and Mohism have different interpretations of "Tao", unlike Japanese kendo, which mainly focuses on Confucianism and Zen.
It can be seen that the Japanese like the sword because of the meaning it represents. The mountain city photographed by the Japanese originated from Tang Island in the Tang Dynasty.
After all, I admire the culture of our country, so I am embarrassed to say that I changed my name.
