There are generally three ways to put together wallpaper.
(1) Butt stitching: Butt stitching is to put the edges of the wallpaper close to each other. Neither overlap nor leave gaps. The advantage of this patchwork method is that it is flat, smooth, and traceless, giving people a complete and smooth feeling. However, this patchwork method requires that there should be no white edges on both sides of the wallpaper, and two edges must be cut very neatly. Otherwise, there will be gaps in the seams. When joining together, if you want to make the seams tighter, you can place your palms flat on the seams of the two wallpapers, and use the pressure of your palms to push the two wallpapers closer together. Never grab the edge of the wallpaper, as this may tear the wallpaper or deform it.
(2) Overlapping stitching: Overlapping stitching refers to the stitching method in which wallpapers are overlapped on one edge. This patchwork method is easier, but has a poor look and feel. Because there will be a dent at the seam, which will affect the smoothness and beauty of the pasted surface. Therefore, it is usually used less frequently. However, if the wallpaper has a white border, one must overlap the other in order to match the flowers. When using the overlapping seam method, the paper should be facing the main lighting direction of the room, so that the dents in the overlapping seams become less conspicuous.
(3) Overlapping cutting and patchwork: This patchwork method is to overlap part of the seam of two wallpapers, so that the flowers are complete, and then use a ruler to align the two wallpapers. Press the center of the raised part tightly, and use the cutter to cut firmly and smoothly along the ruler to cut through both layers of wallpaper. The cutting knife should be sharp so as not to tear or stretch the wallpaper. After cutting, tear off the excess parts of the upper and lower layers of wallpaper, then align the joints of the two wallpapers and press them flat against the wall, and compact them with a seaming roller. To make the patchwork tighter, you can also use your palms to squeeze the wallpaper together from both sides. The advantages of overlapping seams are invisible.
