Emperor Dayu traveled eastward, died in Huiji, and gave the world to Yi. After three years of funeral, Yi gave way to Qi, the son of Dayu, and lived in seclusion at the southern foot of Jishan Mountain. Dayu's son "enlightened" his talent, and the whole world belongs to him. When Dayu died, although the throne was given to Yi, Yi assisted Dayu for a short time, but the world was not harmonious, and all the princes left Yi and worshipped Qi, saying, "Our monarch is the son of Emperor Dayu." So "Qi" ascended the position of the son of heaven.
This passage is about the dusk of abdication, because since Xia Qi, there has been a family world. People today actually have different views and questions about his death, but at least before his death, Dayu was said to have given the right to appoint senior officials to his son Qi. Therefore, it is natural that Yi failed to keep his position.
