Brief introduction of Wang jueming.

Wang Jueming (1897— 1978) was born in Jinhua County, Zhejiang Province. Agronomist, crop breeder, biostatistician, founder of biostatistics in China.

19 14 graduated from Zhejiang No.7 Middle School, and went to Japan to study with his father Wang Maorong (No.1866- 1923, a juren in the 23rd year of Guangxu) in the same year. After studying Japanese in Japan, he was admitted to Kumamoto University and then studied agronomy at Imperial University in Tokyo, Japan. 19 18 After graduating from Imperial University, he entered the graduate school, and 1924 obtained a master's degree in agronomy. In August of the same year, he returned to China as an associate professor at Beijing Agricultural University. He had a close relationship with Shao Piaoping, then president of Beijing Daily, which had an important influence on the development of his patriotic progressive thought. 65438-0925 Continue to be a lecturer at Beijing Agricultural University.

1926 Shao Piaoping was killed by the northern warlords. He was so sad that he published a mourning article.

1927 ——1928 The Agricultural College of Nanjing Central University was employed for one year. After the expiration, he returned to Peking University Agricultural College as a professor and head of the agricultural department.

1932, he and Professor Chen Zaijun led the graduating students to Suiyuan Province (now Hohhot and Baotou in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region) to inspect agriculture and animal husbandry for several months.

1933, when Bei Nong hired Professor Wang Shanbiao, a cotton expert, to teach in the school, he offered to give up the head of the department of agronomy to Wang, who only attended the professors' meeting. They get along well.

65438-0935, at the invitation of Guangxi provincial government, went to Guangxi for agricultural field investigation. After returning to school, he gave the whole school a keynote report on "Witness Guangdong and Guangxi Agriculture Talk", which was rich in content, integrated theory with practice and inspired students deeply.

From 65438 to 0936, he was sent to Europe for investigation and specialized in biostatistics in the Agricultural College of Cambridge University.

1937 during the lugouqiao incident, the Japanese invaders occupied Ping Jin, and because his family was in Beiping, he returned to China via Siberia. The enemies and puppet troops in Peiping advised him to stay in Peiping University as a puppet Manchurian, but he escaped from the enemy-occupied area several times and reported to the Agricultural College of Northwest Union University in Wugong, Shaanxi Province, where he served as a professor and head of the agricultural department.

/kloc-at the beginning of 0/938, he became a professor and head of the department of agriculture at the College of Agriculture of Guangxi University.

1939 At the invitation of Professor Wang, Dean of the College of Agriculture of Guangxi University, he moved to Shatang, Liuzhou, Guangxi, where he was a professor and head of the Department of Agriculture, and also served as a lecturer at the College of Agriculture of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangdong, and then moved to northern Guangdong. In winter, his family finally reunited in Liuzhou, and almost all the documents accumulated by decades of hard work were lost in Hong Kong, leaving nothing behind!

1939 1944, Liuzhou and Guilin in Guangxi successively fell. With the help of students Chen Shiyi and Zhang Zhongge, his family lived in Yaoshan, Lipu County. Life is extremely difficult. He lives in a bamboo shed and eats ferns and wild vegetables. In the hard times, Professor Wang had to go up the mountain to get firewood, find and dig wild vegetables to satisfy his hunger. At the same time, it is entirely up to two students to try to send a large amount of data he collected in Shaanxi and Liuzhou to the mountains, so that he can continue his biostatistics research.

In the 1940s, he completed the manuscript of his masterpiece Dynamic Difference, New Dynamic Difference, Product Dynamic Difference and Their Relationship. After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, he went to Kunming to be a professor at the Agricultural College of National Yunnan University, teaching biostatistics.

65438-0946 became a professor and head of the Department of Agriculture of Taiwan Province Provincial University.

/kloc-0 was elected as an academician of the third academia sinica in April, 1959.

1963 was elected as an academician of "Academia Sinica" in Taiwan Province Province. 1973 After retiring in July, he still devoted himself to the research of biostatistics and wrote many valuable works.

In the 1920s, Wang Jueming taught wheat planting, breeding, biostatistics and field experiment techniques when he was a teacher at the National Beijing Agricultural University. He was one of the earliest professors who offered biostatistics courses in China. In China, Nan Ding (rice expert Ding Ying) and Wang Bei (wheat expert Wang Jueming) are known as two masters of agricultural science in China. He has unique research and opinions on biostatistics. When the variable analysis method (hereinafter referred to as variance analysis) by Professor Fisher, an authoritative British biostatistician, rose in Europe and America, the agricultural circles in China, first of all Wang Jueming, began to teach at the National Beijing Agricultural University. He initiated the experimental research on China's applied statistics and emissivity measurement, and his works all had incisive and original opinions, which had a great influence on the later development of the peaceful use of atomic energy science and won international praise.

Wang Jueming is the founder of the first biostatistics laboratory in China. 1946, in order to congratulate him on his achievements in biostatistics research, famous figures Ding Ying, Wang, Dong, Liu, Peng Jiayuan and others initiated the establishment of the only biostatistics research institute named after Wang Jueming in China-Jueming Biostatistics Laboratory of Taiwan Province Provincial University. Later, in recognition of his outstanding achievements, Taiwan Province Provincial University officially renamed Jueming Biostatistics Laboratory as Jueming Biostatistics Institute, and appointed him as the first director. The establishment of this institution has made an important contribution to training senior biostatistics talents and promoting the development of biological science.

Wang Jueming is very infectious to students and has won their respect and love. He has a hollow reputation all his life, and he only learns from it. People's education of him is not only deeply influenced by his talent, but also takes his personality charm and noble moral character as an example.

Wang Jueming, agronomist, crop breeding and biostatistician. Scholars on both sides of the Taiwan Straits are recognized as the main founders of biostatistics in China. He was the first to offer biostatistics courses, and established the only biostatistics research institute named after him in China-Jueming Biostatistics Laboratory of Taiwan Province Provincial University. The new technology of nursery experiment advocated by him has been widely used in agricultural experimental research and achieved great results.
