Is elephant migration related to the Yunnan earthquake?

Recently, due to the earthquake in Sichuan Province, China, many netizens began to guess whether the migration of wild elephants in Yunnan Province was related to the earthquake. In fact, this statement is obviously wrong, because the migration of wild elephants in Yunnan Province of China actually started last year1February. Although elephants also have the ability to predict natural disasters, they will not predict them half a year in advance, otherwise it would be too exaggerated.

First of all, we all know that animals can sense the change of weather and the coming of disaster. For example, we sometimes see ants moving on the roadside, which means it will rain heavily. Sometimes dogs, chickens, ducks and geese at home cry abnormally, which may also be caused by extreme weather or natural disasters. As a large animal that has lived in the wild for so many years, elephants naturally have their own methods to perceive natural disasters.

Secondly, although elephants have the ability to avoid disasters, we still have to treat them realistically. We can't regard every migration of elephants as avoiding natural disasters. This appraisal method is absolutely wrong. In fact, from June 5438 to February 2020, wild elephants appeared in Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province, China. In other words, this group of wild elephants had been discussing the issue of migration as early as eight months ago, and only recently discovered the earthquake, so the migration of wild elephants has little to do with the earthquake.

Finally, in fact, experts have thoroughly analyzed the migration of wild elephants a long time ago. The nature reserve where wild elephants live cannot meet the needs of elephants' survival, and elephants need to migrate to another suitable place for survival. But last year1February, the conditions in the nature reserve were enough for elephants to live for a while, so elephants didn't migrate until March and April this year.
