All individuals and groups that truly oppose imperialism have the right to enjoy all freedoms and rights. In this way, it is a great progress and leap to combine bourgeois civil rights politics with the struggle against imperialism and nationalism. Nationalism is to oppose the Manchu dictatorship and the invasion of foreign powers, overthrow the warlords who colluded with imperialism, seek the equality of all ethnic groups in China, and recognize the right of national self-determination.
The old democratic revolution included six revolutionary (reform) movements, namely, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement, the Westernization Movement, the Reform Movement of 1898, the Boxer Rebellion, the Revolution of 1911 and the New Culture Movement. The old democratic revolution includes the peasant class's resistance revolution, the landlord class's self-help movement and the bourgeois revolution led by the bourgeoisie for the purpose of establishing a capitalist society and a bourgeois dictatorship country.
The old democratic revolution has proved that in China, neither the peasant class nor the bourgeoisie can lead the revolution to victory, and the democratic revolution in China must be led by the proletariat to win.
