Tang Yue Paifang Group is located in Tang Yue Village, west of Huancheng. Paifang Group consists of seven archways, arranged in the order of loyalty, filial piety, festival and righteousness. They were built in Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty respectively, showing the loyalty and filial piety of Tang Yue people. Next to the Paifang Group, there are two temples for men and women, which are large in scale and beautifully carved with brick and wood, and have been restored in recent years. China memorial archway museum is also being built here. In feudal society, in order to commend officials who made outstanding contributions to the prosperity of the imperial court in loyalty, filial piety and righteousness, the current government often approved the construction of a "merit archway" at home and in the countryside to call on the people to serve the imperial court. ?
Tang Yue Paifang Group is a masterpiece of architectural art in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and its architectural style is mixed. Although the time span is hundreds of years, it is all the same. The Paifang Group in Tang Yue, Shexian County has changed the characteristics of the previous wooden structure, and almost all of them are made of stone, mainly the "Shexian Green" stone with excellent texture. This bluestone archway is solid, tall, majestic and magnificent. By the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the architectural art of memorial archways was also improving day by day. Architectural experts believe that the archway in Tang Yue is of great value to the study of politics, economy, culture, architectural art, the formation and development of Huizhou merchants and even the folk customs of folk houses in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The first stone archway: built in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, it has been more than 450 years since. The four pillars of the archway fall on the pier, which is simple and magnificent. The word "imperial edict" is embedded in the "dragon and phoenix board" under the cornice, and there are a pair of embossed lions in front of and behind the beam, which are extraordinary in valor. It is reported that Bao Shen, who was commended by the emperor, has never been an official in his life. Because of his good education for his children and grandchildren, his grandson made great achievements in defending the Ming Dynasty, and was rewarded by the three generations of emperors, especially his ancestors.
The second archway: the "Cixiaoli" archway, which was built in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, was personally approved by the emperor, and its high political treatment can be seen. The "stone of mercy" engraved on the archway records a touching story. A son of the Bao family, seeing that his father was going to be killed, begged for death. The father has been burning incense for the Bao family, demanding that he be executed without hurting his children and grandchildren. The kindness and filial piety of the Bao family moved the robbers. When Emperor Qianlong went down to the south of the Yangtze River, after hearing this story, he happily wrote down "Li, the first hometown in the beautiful south of the Yangtze River, made a big talk about Ci Xiao," and allocated funds to renovate the Ci Xiao Li archway. Coupled with its old system, it was engraved with imperial couplets. A memorial archway was sealed by two emperors, which is rare in the history of China.
The third, fourth and fifth archways: the archway of "ending loneliness with a festival", the archway of "being charitable" and the archway of "saving your energy for three winters" all have many touching stories. It is worth mentioning that the "thrifty three winters" workshop was built for a stepmother. It is said that after her husband's death, the stepmother took the path of all women, putting her ex-wife's son before her own, and when she was old, she devoted all her money to repairing the ancestral grave. This move moved local officials, broke the rule that the stepwife was not allowed to set up a workshop, and made an exception to build a memorial archway for her the same size as others. Despite this love, the word "three winters" on the forehead of the archway is still foreshadowing. Carving the word "Festival" on the grass head shows in a misplaced way that the successor's room and the original match can never be equal in status.
The bluestone archways in Tang Yue, Shexian County need not be nailed or riveted. The ingenious combination of stones can last for thousands of years. Each one has been carefully designed and constructed, and each one has been officially recognized. Rulers of all previous dynasties used this special way to commend people who made "contributions" in society, which is enough to prove that all previous dynasties attached great importance to "spiritual civilization". These not only left spiritual wealth to future generations, but also left wealth in culture, art, architectural technology and many other aspects.

The memorial archway is a medal awarded to Huangshan by history. Historically, Huangshan (Huizhou) has produced many talents, including Li Tinggui, Zhu, Bi Sheng, Wang Maoyin, Dai Zhen, Hu Shi, Tao Xingzhi and Huang. There are 542 scholars in Shexian county alone, 153 1 juren in Ming and Qing dynasties, and "father-son history" and "compatriot Hanlin" have become beautiful talks. Especially in the hometown of Neo-Confucianism in Zhu Cheng, women were deeply hurt by the feudal concept of chastity, and a large number of chastity female martyrs, represented by Miss Wang San in The Scholars, appeared. In the old society, in order to show these "outstanding" figures of "loyalty, filial piety and righteousness", a large number of archways were built everywhere in Huangshan City. Although these historical sites have been destroyed repeatedly, there are still more than 100 places well preserved. Tang Yue Paifang Group is one of the representative works.
Tang Yue Paifang Group is located at Tang Yue Cuntou Avenue in the west of Shexian County 10. * * * Seven archways are arranged in turn, three in Ming Dynasty and four in Qing Dynasty, which outline the general situation of the ethics of "loyalty, filial piety and righteousness" in feudal society. The origin of the Seven Archways is as follows: 1, Baocan Workshop, built in the early years of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty. The inscription on the memorial archway reads "Show filial piety to Bao Shen, the right assistant minister of the Ministry of War". According to the records of Shexian County, Bao Shen received a good education and did not seek career advancement. His mother and feet are gangrenous, and extending medical care for many years is ineffective. Baocan became a mother and continued to suck blood pus from her mother's feet until she recovered. His filial piety touched the whole village and made him build this workshop. Bao Xiang, the great-grandson of Bao Shen, was awarded the title of right assistant minister of the Ministry of War.
