Wang Dao was born in the Tang Dynasty (Wangjiatai, Chequan Village, Changxing Town, Yan County, Shaanxi Province). He was born in 67 AD and died in 755 AD. He was another famous physician in the Tang Dynasty, and his book The Secret of Foreign Taiwan was praised by later generations. Wang Tao became interested in medicine because he was ill since childhood and often dealt with medicine. Later, because of his mother's illness, he felt that "a person with unknown medical skills between Qi and Liang Dynasties should not be a dutiful son", so he delved into medicine to cure his mother's illness, often contacted famous doctors and consulted them, and finally mastered medicine and wrote "Secrets of Foreign Taiwan". Wang Dao was born in an official family, and his grandfather Wang Jue was one of the prime ministers in the early Tang Dynasty. He is honest and good at remonstrating for officials, and is as famous as Fang Xuanling, Du Ruhui and Wei Zhi. He was once the teacher of Li Jiancheng, the prince of Tang gaozu. Wang Dao's father, Wang Jingzhi, was attached to Princess Nanping and was also knighted. Wang Dao's two sons also became officials. The eldest son was Shao Qing of Dali Temple, and the second son served as an assassin in Suzhou.
Wang Dao was sickly since childhood, and his mother, Princess Nanping, was in poor health. He was very filial, took care of his mother, read a lot of medical books, looked for a panacea, and gradually became interested in medicine. Wang Dao used to be the prefect of Sima and Yejun in Xuzhou, but he went to Hong Wen Pavilion, the royal library at that time, in order to have the opportunity to read medical books. Since then, he has been eagerly reading medical books since the Jin and Tang Dynasties. He spent 2 years here. While systematically reading a large number of medical books, he also made detailed excerpts, day and night, year after year, and accumulated a lot of medical materials. Among them, there are as many as fifty or sixty in ancient times alone. Later, he was demoted to Fangling, and was placed in Daning County nearby after he was pardoned. The local climate was hot and humid, and the people got miasma, and in ten cases, born to die. According to the prescription he carried with him, he miraculously saved the dying person, so he was determined to write a medical book with anger.
