Second, living habits.
Adults and locusts have the same feeding habits, both of which are phytophagous. They use chewing mouthparts to bite the leaves and buds of plants into notches and holes. Some species are oligotrophic pests, such as Locusta migratoria manilensis, which only feed on Gramineae and Cyperaceae; Some species are omnivorous, such as grasshoppers with sharp wings.
Adults and locusts lie down at night and come out during the day, so they have no obvious phototaxis.
