What are the main annotation methods of ancient classics?

1. Note (1) Training and explanation: focus on words, words and things. (2) Biography: It originally refers to the book explaining the Six Classics of Confucianism, and it is also the general annotation name of later generations. (3) Note: It began in Zheng Xuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and made its own interpretation, making the classics and meanings clear and consistent with the biography. (4) Notes: Explain the hidden and obscure points in the original notes, or write down your own different opinions.

2. Chapter and sentence category: not focusing on explaining the meaning of words, but focusing on analyzing the main idea sentence by sentence and chapter by chapter. However, in cross talk and sentence meaning analysis, the interpretation of the original meaning is often included. For example, Zhao Qi's Mencius Chapters and Sentences and Wang Yi's Chuci Chapters and Sentences.

3. Yi Shu's category: it explains both scriptures and annotations. Before the Song Dynasty, Shu He Jing and Zhu He wrote a book; After the Song Dynasty, Shu was published together with the corresponding classics in order to facilitate reading. Therefore, the annotation of righteousness includes the original text, notes and sparse.

4. Set solution class: a kind of annotation that collects opinions and adds editors' opinions, including set note, set biography, set solution, etc.

5. Phonetic and semantic category: phonetic category, which mainly focuses on phonetic notation, with simple explanations in some cases, or pointing out different versions of classics. When the phonetic book annotates polysemous words, the phonetic notation itself implies explanation.
