The Classic of Mountains and Seas can be divided into three parts, namely, the Classic of Five Zang Mountains, the Classic of Seas and the Classic of Wilderness. Among them, the Five Classics of Tibetan Mountain can be divided into Nanshan Classics, Xishan Classics, Beishan Classics, Dongshan Classics and Zhongshan Classics. Sea classics can be divided into overseas classics and domestic classics; Wild classics can be divided into wild east longitude, wild south longitude, wild west longitude and wild north longitude.
Ancient people's evaluation and description of Shan Hai Jing;
It is classified as criminal law in Hanshu, and Liu Xin thinks Shan Hai Jing is a history book of geography and nature. Guopu in the Western Jin Dynasty regarded it as a credible geographical document. In the Ming Dynasty, Hu Yinglin called The Classic of Mountains and Seas "the ancestor of ancient and modern strange language", and then included it in the book Strange Language. The Qing Dynasty's Sikuquanshu listed it as a novel. In modern times, Lu Xun thinks this is a book by wizards and alchemists.
