Brief introduction of Shanghai Dictionary Publishing House

Shanghai Dictionary Publishing House is the first professional publishing house in China to publish reference books. Its predecessor was the Cihai Editorial Institute of Zhonghua Book Company, which was established in August 1958, and changed its name to 1978 in October. It mainly publishes comprehensive dictionaries, Chinese dictionaries, dictionaries and professional dictionaries, as well as handbooks, chronicles, indexes and yearbooks. He edited and published the dictionary research, a professional periodical of lexicography, and also published CDs such as Children's Cihai and China Film.

By April of 20 1 1 year, the whole society had more than 50 employees1year, the editorial department of Cihai and six editing centers, and a high-level editorial team of nearly 80 editors with various titles, including nearly 50 senior titles. 1978 has published more than 2,000 books so far.

Since 1978, more than 600 books have been published, with more than 60 million copies printed. Nine books, such as Ci Hai, won the national highest book award, and 13 books, such as Idiom Dictionary, won the national highest dictionary award, ranking first in the number and order of awards among local publishers. 1994 was commended as a national excellent publishing house by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and the Press and Publication Administration.

Over the years, we have carried out a series of copyright trade business with many publishing houses at home and abroad, and jointly published Ci Hai, Tang Poetry Appreciation Dictionary, Song Poetry Appreciation Dictionary, Tang Song Poetry Appreciation Dictionary, China Literature Dictionary, China Idiom Dictionary, Foreign Pop Song Appreciation Dictionary, China Famous Painting Appreciation Dictionary, China Fine Arts Dictionary and Synonyms.
