"Four Books" are four textbooks for Confucian disciples in the Southern Song Dynasty to learn the Confucian spirit, which are arranged from easy to difficult. Zhu annotated these four books. The notes of Daxue and The Doctrine of the Mean are called "chapters and sentences", while the notes of The Analects and Mencius are called "concentrated notes". Later, because of the length of the space, it was conducive to engraving. Before the Analects was mentioned, it became the preface of the four books.
