The predecessor of Hunan University Library can be traced back to Yuelu Academy Imperial Bookstore, which was founded in the Northern Song Dynasty. At the beginning of the 20th century, Yuelu Academy evolved into Hunan University. Construction of the new library began in 1929 and was completed in 1933, but it was destroyed by the Japanese invasion of China in April 1938. It was merged with the library of Hunan University of Finance and Economics in 2000 and with the library of Hunan Computer College in 2002. After the merger in 2000, the school strengthened the construction of literature information resources, and the library also adjusted the literature information collection policy. Literature procurement is gradually concentrated on digital resources, accounting for about 2/3 of the total procurement funds. On the premise of meeting the needs of large-scale undergraduates, the construction of printed documents should ensure the documents needed by key disciplines and key scientific research projects, and appropriately tilt the documents needed by newly established majors in schools; In the construction of digital information resources, according to the needs of undergraduate teaching, the construction of key disciplines and the construction of digital libraries, the introduction of key digital resources and teaching digital resources has been strengthened by combining the introduction of databases and self-built databases, and a reasonable digital document information resource system has been gradually formed.
